Welcome to Saab92x.com!

Hi everyone,

This is an announcement to let you all know that saab92x.com/ will be added to the Autoguide.com Mobile App sometime next week. The app is available in a free version, and paid version that can be downloaded for both iPhone and Android devices.  When accessing the site from your mobile device you should be prompted to download the app. You can also search your mobile store for the app, just search "AutoGuide" or you can go straight to http://www.autoguide.com/mobile/ and download it from there. Once you have found and downloaded the app, you will be able to go through the list of sites and locate this site, and maybe find some sites you did not know were out there.

The AutoGuide app is designed to work exclusively with the AutoGuide.com network, so if you happen to frequent several of our forums, you can now access them all in one app.

Hope you guys like it!

35% up front is ideal, most of us have that. I went with 20% everywhere else and
it works great, you can't tell there is a difference from the outside

Looks good with the color/wheel combo cool. What method did you go with? Paint at home or in a shop? I'm curious since I would someday like to make my car more unique.

I've done it... finally purchased a non German car.

Re: THE OFFICIAL SILVER(Arctic/Desert Silver and Gray) Thread

Yeah, I'm thinking of sanding it down and re-applying the clear.  It was a night where it started pouring when I started applying the 2nd coat of clear and the rain just wouldn't stop that night.   facepalm

I have gotten people coming up and saying they like how the paint looks though, but I'm still going to try and smooth it out as much as possible.

I sanded down the existing paint then went at it with primer (x2 followed by sanding), paint (x3), clear (x5) and now I'm trying to wet sand the car down to as smooth as possible but trying not to strike through the clear.  I sprayed it with an HVPA gun with a 1.5 tip all of which was done in my garage after lining it all with vapour barrier.

All that matters is that you like it b00duh.  wink  But for reals... needs to be moar shinier.  Are you going to color sand that sucker and buff it?  I know this takes time, but we are impatient.  Good luck!  up

Re: THE OFFICIAL SILVER(Arctic/Desert Silver and Gray) Thread

Thanks, banjo.  I do like it and I get quite a few compliments on the color.  I will be sanding it down and buffing it.  I'm back to work so I'm doing whatever I can here and there.

You did something I would never have the balls to do.  Did you partially disassemble the car, or just mask everything off to paint it?

Given my time frame I had to work on it and my budget, I simply removed the trim for the doors and door jams, both bumpers, front fenders, side skirts and wheels.  For the window trim, I just used trim tape to pull the trim off the body and so that I don't get paint on them and don't get the annoying lines from having the trim on there.
