ATX: Hill Country drive - let's do another one.

Time for another Hill Country drive.

Any thoughts on dates?

70-90 miles of twists and turns....probably in the NW section (north of Lake Travis), as we saw some nice roads there last time.....
I'll try to cut down on the detours that lead to nowhere (or someone's gate).

Let's pick out a date, then round up the people and do this.

Date: June 22nd.
Time: Meet and greet at 10:30am, departure at 11:00am.
Location: Home Depot parking lot off of route 620 in Bee Cave (~1 mile north of intersection of 620 and 71)

Obligatory sig with extensive power mod list for greater respect:
-JDM oil pan, JDM dipstick, STI oil pickup and baffle plate for ultimate oil flow, STI midpipe for uber power gains.
-WetOkole front seat covers for ass sweat stains
-Drawtite hitch (no wiring) for a bike and a trunkmonkey for shits and giggles

Re: ATX: Hill Country drive - let's do another one.

I'm willing to go, but am trying to get some new tires (and maybe even wheels!) first. Worst case I'll be in my friend's EP3 civic roll SI. I also have no clue what my vacation plans will be like, but anytime except early July will probably be good.

In any case, thread bump. Not sure about anyone else, but I really enjoyed the roads from the last ride - especially the more desolate dirt roads up in marble falls.

Re: ATX: Hill Country drive - let's do another one.

Let's set the date to June 14-15th.
What day is better for people? Saturday? Sunday?
I don't care one way or the other...if no one says anything, I'll toss a coin and that's how the decision will be made. So speak up if you have a preference.

I just want to go drive and enjoy!

Let's make it on Sunday then, the 15th!

I'll post up on nasioc as well about it to tell people to come out.

Re: ATX: Hill Country drive - let's do another one.

Please note that the date for this event has been changed to June 22nd in order to avoid conflicts with the Father's Day that's on June 15th.
Thanks to the flaming Jell-o shots for pointing this out. smile

Re: ATX: Hill Country drive - let's do another one.

I bumped the Nasioc thread. Even if it's just a few of us again, it will still be fun. Might as well drive our cars while gas is still below $10 a gallon.

Damn, gonna be down at Canyon lake drinking heavily (biking group camping trip)

Maybe we should do a group cruise to Draught House for some refreshing adult beverages one night!

Set something up for another cruise!
I'll attend (I'm sure we can get some others as well).

Oh, and to stay on topic.....the drive is THIS Sunday.

Be there. (or I'll find you and slash your tires or something).

Re: ATX: Hill Country drive - let's do another one.

wow, overwhelming demand/interest here....awesome!

as for the route, yes, I do have it in Streets and Trips format already.
I'll tweak it a little tomorrow, but it's mostly complete.

Re: ATX: Hill Country drive - let's do another one.

well i'm working on Sunday afternoon, so i'm out. I forgot the club has scheduled cleaning for the month and they won't give rain checks this time around. Too many people skipping out on it last time.
