heart  I googled Howell, and it's not really on my way to TC.  Would you be willing to ship?  I'll pay for that, of course.

you must be doing 69 to 96 to 131?

You have an idea when you're going through, I could have them waiting in Lansing for your fly-by.  Shipping is possible too, of course. big_smile

Re: ThyMighty's 9-2x 2.5i

Installed new Helix FSB end links today.  Haven't driven the car yet to see how they feel.  Before:
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c376/theDEATHblood/100_2804.jpg
I hit the bolts with some liquid wrench:
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c376/theDEATHblood/100_2805.jpg
Let them soak for a few minutes while I greased up the spherical bearings on the new end links:
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c376/theDEATHblood/100_2809.jpg
Removed plastic end link, did a little comparison:
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c376/theDEATHblood/100_2811.jpg
Installed pretty new purple end link:
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c376/theDEATHblood/100_2813.jpg

I'm a little concerned about the construction of these links.  The spherical bearings appear to be stainless, and the link body is anodized aluminum, but the bushings are just plain ol' cold-rolled steel.  I see rust in my future.  I laminated them in grease, but I know that won't last long.
My suspension set up is getting pretty rigid:

Tanabe DF-210 springs
Kartboy outrigger bushings
Kartboy rear subframe lock down bolts
WRX RSB
Poly RSB bushings
Helix solid FSB end links

I'll take it for a test drive and report back any noticeable improvements.

Re: ThyMighty's 9-2x 2.5i

Backing up to the air intake:

Did you remove the piece in the fender well that the intake goes onto?  It's not a perfect fit and needs some shimming, but without it, I think you'll still be getting hot air from behind the headlight.

I deleted the entire hemholz resonator when I was a younger and dumber n00b.  That was before I learned that Linears suffer low-end torque loss without it.  I put all of that back in when I installed the cold air scoop.  I used a couple pieces of foam and some electrical tape to fill the small gap where scoop meets resonator.  I'll go snap some pics for you.

I like how you said ford. At first I took it for find, then reread and even more lol'd.

Now it's got me wondering if it really would make water easily enter the intake  mad

2005 Saab 9-2x Aero 4EAT <3 I loves it.  1 of 1,353 same models built in 05' super duper rare. Only 17.26% of 05' Production.
Dislikes: Saab logo vanishing, paint cheap.

It's not going to be too bad because the bearing part are stainless steel. Just cover the exposed part with lots of lithium grease, they will stay on and turn to tar like black grease  after a while. I have cobb endlinks on my car for few years now, and they show very little sign of rust the last time I took them off to clean and regrease them.

Edit: I look at your picture, you will need more grease when the winter come.

I won't be driving the 92x this winter.   cool

Also on the topic of the 92x; the end links actually make a noticeable difference in handling.  I have to readjust the way I steer the car in sharp corners, I had a tendency to over-steer it a bit today.  I noticed no added NVH and ride comfort (or lack there-of) remained the same.

Re: ThyMighty's 9-2x 2.5i

Yes it did.  You can do this with the '06, but not the '05.

Don't know if I'll do headers. There really isn't much power to be made on the n/a power plant, so I doubt I'll spend too much on the engine.

Re: ThyMighty's 9-2x 2.5i

I don't.  I just know the flange is different between '05 and '06.  I'm betting that the flange is different on the the manifold end as well.

RSB from the WRX is 17mm.  Factory FSB is 19mm.  I'm pretty comfortable with that for right now.  Possibly down the road.

Not exactly sure, but I was surprised by how light they are.  I wish I wasn't so damn busy, I really want to clean these up and slap 'em on!
