Re: More dog thread

arrow-up Thanks. She is turning out to be a pretty awesome dog.

Also I found a cat a couple of weeks ago. He was about 3 weeks old and only weighed 12 oz. I was going to try and give him away but having to bottle feed him made me have to keep him. Here is Fin while Zella looks at him like lunch.

Re: More dog thread

Keeping my composure at work. It's tougher than I thought, despite being 1700 miles away. I go thru smiling about her and holding back my tears. She was a fast, intelligent, elusive, sassy beast. What a dog.

I had a great dream about her last night. It was amazing. At the cabin in Grand Junction, Michigan, her favorite spot. She loved wading in the water and chasing little critters and smelling all the smells. She--I like to think--even knew Michigan. She would get excited when it started smelling like blueberries...although she smelled them miles before I did. She was just having a great time, and I just sat on the dock and watched her the entire dream.  heart

12-1/2 ain't bad. And I'm glad my mom went thru with it while she was still in decent health. I would have hated to see her immobile or in poor health. She was still cruising along in her early 90's.  smile

A few for her. All from this past Monday.

Re: More dog thread

Great dogs ITT. Heartwarming and moving stuff. I get a bit misty eyed when I think of how much I love my bun bun, Nat, and how devastated I'd be if I had to put him down. I'm sure losing a dog would be even more heartwrenching. Sorry, Justin and Yellowducky.  sad

Zoey just started swimming yesterday out of the blue.  She wasn't a fan of going in the water past her belly before but now she dives right in.

She makes oink noises while she swims.  biggrin

Re: More dog thread

Can you have her teach my dogs that?  Foster swims if necessary. He'll chase the ball or follow me in.  Ranger only gets his feet wet.

Re: More dog thread

I honestly don't know what happened.  We walk on some trails around a pond near our house every day.  She normally would just wade in the water to cool off a little or for a drink, but yesterday she jumped in like it was no big deal.  I threw a few sticks in for her to retrieve and she went out for them every time.  Bringing them back to me is not in her playbook, though.

Have another one primed when she's coming out of the water, she'll be jealous, and come to you with the other stick. Might even give if you ask nicely.  smile

Great job, bump. It's always good to hear an encouraging owner bonding with their pet.

And thanks for the kind words.  smile
