I have a favor to ask

Are any of you guys near Brooklyn and know a thing or two about cars.  I am looking at a 73 2002 in Williamsburg and just wanted someone to take a peep for me and check for the basic things ie.  oil leaks, rubber seals, rust,  and if the thing drives like it should.  Just a basic test drive I dont need a compression test or anything.  I have a VEI boost gauge I could give as payment.  At this point me and the owner are still discussing details but if any of you are up for it could you please pm me.

Thank You
miko

Re: I have a favor to ask

Man....with a car like that you'd probably be better off taking it to a well reviewed BMW technician, unless someone on here knows where to look for the 2002 common rust out areas (rear shock mounts, etc).  It would be easy enough for anyone to look at leaks, etc tho  up

Rust and body work can run up bills fast on those old 02's as the mechanicals aren't really too pricey.

Sounds like a cool car.  I've always wished I could have one, too  smile
