Welcome to Saab92x.com!
Hi everyone, |
I bought a headlight restoration kit from turtle wax for like 2 months ago.. And today I finally tested it.
Here is some before pics
This is what the headlight looked like in the morning on the worst side.
And here is the other side.
Took the car to a car wash.
Washed the car.. The headlights have always been looking good while being wet.. but you can still see the difference on the left and the right side.
Drove home agian and parked the car in the garage and opened up the restoration kit.
Washed the headlights again and masked the area around the headlights.
And now results

Will post a pic in a week to see if it worked.. it says in the instructions that the car shall not be used within 24 hours. But I have to use the car to get to work so will only let it stand for 19h..

Looks like some amazing results so far. I just my mobile car wash dude do mine and he left them looking like new!
I tried this too once, I applied too much pressure I think because I left a few thin surface cracks
I vowed to never again do them myself. Your car looks very nice and clean.

I did them on my 9-2X a couple months ago. I could not believe the difference. My results were identical to yours. Foggy haze to crystal clear glass in about 30 minutes.

Well done. Looks great so far!

what type of auto's side view mirrors are you using now? I remember you had posted on this and I see you have found and modified some.

Those are the small ones that I don't like because they are to small and don't have any heat..

Looks great! I'll have to try this on my gti. I take it it's a super easy DIY?

I was looking for the Meguiar's G1900K Headlight and Clear Plastic Restoration Kit that I was told here that was god http://saab92x.com/viewtopic.php?pid=626992#p626992 but I did't found it in any local store. In one of my local stores they told me to test the Turle Wax kit.. I know that Meguiar's products is (uses to be atleast) better but the Turtle product was cheap so I thought I could test it at least.

Thanks guys! I'm actually cheating a bit... I checking all my post in google translate before I posting. But on the other hand.. I have done that since my first post so either I'm getting better or google translate is. But practice makes results I have been here for a year now.

Looks good. Still not a fan of your tiny mirrors though.
I too have noticed your use of the English language has improved, at least in your typing.

Did you test it?
I have forgotten about this so I have not taken any pics of what it looks like now.. But I have not washed my car since I did this so I can only say that it's still looking better then before.
