Welcome to Saab92x.com!

Hey everyone. Just wanted to get someone with 92x experience insight. I came across a 92x Aero that a coworker had and got what I thought was a steal. 05 auto with 85k. I got it for $5,000. The body is not perfect (a few dings here and there) but over all it seem to be a solid car. He is clueless about any work done to the car. Is there work that I need to have done asap. Like maybe the timing belt/water pump? I love the car so far. From what I have read there is not much I can do about the lag off the line but was thinking about at least a stage 1. Any thoughts?

Up-pipe, downpipe, Accessport (or other), etc. stage 1 will help. But you're working against a slushbox...so do some searching around the site and you'll find a load of info to make it go faster.
Timing belt, water pump, pulleys are at 105k. You got some time, as long as the car has seen regular maintenance with fluid changes and spark plug inspection/replacement.
If you don't fuck with it too much or too far out of the ordinary, it's pretty damn reliable. Enjoy, and welcome!

Welcome...that is a nice buy at $5k. Stage 1 you should do without question.

Fluid changes including ATF drain and refill. This should be done every 30k miles. To be safe, might as well just do all fluid changes. At least you'll get the peace of mind knowing everything is fresh and clean.
