Colorado Sightings

Thought I'd start this thread for us, so we can get to know each other a little better. wink

Let us know who you've seen!

Just to start it off, I saw a blue Aero at the Southwest Plaza Target last Saturday morning.  Anyone here?

Re: Colorado Sightings

Not me.  I'm a red Linear in south Denver.  Have a Thule rack system with faring, ski rack and two bike racks.  Seen a couple others in south Denver, mostly Aeros.  I commute across Evans, Holly to Sante Fe daily.

Re: Colorado Sightings

I saw a woman in a silver Linear riding west on 6th Ave. last night.  The unfortunate details of which can be found on this thread.   I hope that's not someone on here, but I might as well find out.  Maybe lent their car out to someone they shouldn't have?

Re: Colorado Sightings

I just drove out to Crested Butte from MN, and I swear I saw 2 Aeros, 1 on the way out, and 1 on the way back.  Both were on I-76 between Denver and Sterling.  Either a Desert Silver or Satin Grey Aero on the 27th, and a Red Aero on the 30th.  Both times they were going the other direction, so I didn't get a good look.  Hard to believe this is the first time I've seen another 9-2x on the road, and I've had the car for almost 6 months.

We are a rare breed!

I just had two more sightings on the 1/3 mile streatch back from lunch.  Both were Satin Gray (which makes three on that stretch).  The first was on Broadway between 6th and spear.  It had the Thule ack, Tint and a passenger in the rear danglng out a full sleave Tattoo. Didin't see if it was Linear or Aero.

The second was at Spear and Bannock.  This one was a Aero, and appeared completely stock.

My coworkers in the car with me couldn't understand why I wass so surprised at this...

Re: Colorado Sightings

Although I see them only rarely on the road, there are three '05s at my workplace in Interlocken (Broomfield): my Satin Grey Aero (Premium + Cold), a friend's Satin Grey Aero, and a Black Aero.

Re: Colorado Sightings

Gebhardt had a red Aero fully loaded about two weeks ago, but it disappeared real quick.

Re: Colorado Sightings

Yah, I think I've seen that blue 2.5 around also.  My wife drives our 92x from Larkspur to the Springs every day for work, so you'll see her if you frequent I-25 around 7:30am or 5pm.

Re: Colorado Sightings

I saw a deep blue mettalic 2.5i at Alameda and Holly this morning.  Judging by the window graffiti, she was a high school senior, so if you're on here, "how you doin'?   wink

The deep blue is in interesting color, and it looks like it's also available on the Aero in the 06s.  I think if that was available last year, it would have been my top choice, unless of course the nordic grey was available as well.

Re: Colorado Sightings

I might know who that is, he should be a senior at my old highschool this year. Never got to talk to him but I doubt he know about the site.

What isn't adding up about the numbers?

A few pointers:
-are you SURE the vehicles you are talking about are identical? Options packages will skew things, as will accessories the dealer might have added on (such as locking lugnuts); paint color even makes a difference on some vehicles (generally flat paint is cheaper than metallic, but I think it is all the same with the 9-2x).
-is one dealer adding TT&L (tax title and license) whereas the competition isn't?
-lastly, because each dealership is independent and they know you are shopping around (they know, even if you haven't said so), one may be trying to take a little off to sweeten the deal. They'd rather make sell for $200 less than not get thousands of your dollars.

Re: Colorado Sightings

Saw another Black Aero yesterday in the tech center, I think off Dry Creek, pulling out of a Tokyo Joes, I gave a point but either he didn't care, or didn't recognize my 9-2x because of all the dirt on it with weekend trips to Breck...

Re: Colorado Sightings

Hopefully U'll all be seeing me around, as I just bought an 05 last weekend! After this stoopid winter, I decided I could no longer roll full-time with my 1991 MR2, although I've truly loved that car. Plus I needed some extra hauling room, so I'm thrilled to be a new Saabaruer. Look for a silver Linear in the Littleton area with a temp tag and a redheaded guy with a smile on his face!

Re: Colorado Sightings

You guys have excellent "Saabdar."  I haven't seen anything out there, and believe me, it's not because I'm not looking.  There does seem to be enough of us in the Denver area.  Maybe one of these Saturdays or Sundays, we all get together one morning and go for a run.

I've never actually done anything like this on road before, as usually I'm in my Jeep on the trails, but the snow is simply too deep right now to do any wheeling safely.

Perhaps a high speed cruise on I70 out to the middle of nowhere and back?  I'm sure that enough of us would have "Copdar" detectors that we'd be safe...

I'm not talking anything crazy or anything, speed limit is 75, so I'm thinking up to 100mph.  It would just look nice to see a bunch of 92x's zipping by w/gleaming paint and gooped up sidewalls.
