I said that because I only have 400 miles on mine, they "break in" is 1000 miles, but as I'm sure you know, everyone has there own definition of break in.

My definition of break in always involves brake stands, launching, and racing suckers in Saabarus for pinks.

Also ... nice new signature Skorp  up Now just change that picture you imposter!

Re: Went to the dragstrip today, slightly dissappointed?

I'm curious if you'll beat my personal best of 13.7 at 102.x in the FWDLOL gti at that same track. Good luck tonight and post some results as soon as you get runs in.  driving

I hope to get back to NED within the next few weeks to try out my S60. I'm very interested to see if it can match or beat my gti times. Maybe we can have some friendly match ups...I know a few local VW guys who regularly run on the Mexibahn but are drag strip nOObs who'd also love to square off against us.  cool

That's a pretty respectable time for a Deville!

You almost could have beat my R Thursday night.   Who would have thought I would have traction issues.  I believe something is completely wrong with the Haldex system because I shouldn't be laying rubber with the front tires the whole 60 ft.  Vag doesn't show anything   unamused

Definitely sounds like something is wrong with your Haldex. You should be cutting some sub-2.0 60ft times with that car. A local buddy ran 13.5s with his R back when it was just a Stage 1 reflash car, and 12.7 when it had the usual Stage 2 bolts and tuning.

My Deville seems to run unusually strong based on the few times I've seen for these online. Either that or I'm better at extracting good times out of it than most people who may not have done the little things needed to get out of the 15.4-15.5 range. Too bad the car sucks in so many other ways but it's a strong runner at least, especially considering it's not even the 300hp variant and only has the 275hp/300tq base motor. It moves out surprisingly well considering the 4,000 pounds it has to lug around with such a modest output rating. I'm sure it's instantaneous low rpm torque has a lot to do with how quick it feels for a giant barge. Its power delivery actually reminds me a lot of the 4.6 V8 in my old 2002 Mustang GT, which ran 14.0 at the same track. The Caddy is obviously slower, but never felt that much slower on the street.

I know, I know, the WRX is capable of running in the mid 13's though! But like you said you were just trying to get a feel for the car and walk her down the straight, no harm in that. Not revving it out to 6500 RPM droppin the clutch and grabbin 2nd at 5700 RPM and holdin till redline. That would have got you much more impressive times....and maybe a broken car. I need to get mine out to the 1/4 mile in MD one weekend.
