Re: Look to grab this... Good price?

Where in Canada are you located?
Canadian prices tend to be higher than the equivalent US but even so $8400 is right at the top end and should be for a pristine car that doesn't need any work. Even if the rest of the car is perfect, it still needs brakes and the dealer needs to take more than $200 off the price. Look around at what equivalent Subaru 2.5RS are going for as a guide and don't pay a premium for the Saab name over the Subaru.
Location also makes a difference - I'm in Vancouver and used car prices here are absolutely insane compared to when I was living in southern Ontario.

I wouldn't pay $8600 for that car, regardless of its year.

Re: Look to grab this... Good price?

The 2006 had a little more power than 2005, and the options look decent (cold weather is a must, even for me).  Rear brakes are an easy job, but still cost money.  Price seems a little high, but I haven't been following the value since I sold mine.

Re: Look to grab this... Good price?

I'm in Calgary.

Brakes will cost me about $160 to do myself which I got knock off the asking.  I haven't seen any 2006 9-2X 2.5i with kms this low or even an impreza not to mention in a 5MT.  I currently own a a 06 Legacy and had a 04 Impreza so I know my subarus pretty well.  In person the car was mint not one rock chip in the paint or windshield 3m bra too which is a nice bonus.  Heated seats are nice since they don't come standard on impreza unless you find a special edition which I have found hard to find in a MT as well.

Only 5 9-2Xs found in Canada
http://www.autotrader.ca/a/pv/Used/Saab … 9&st=1

$9000 with 101,000km AUTO
$6475 with 197,000km

I got mine down to $8400 with only 74,000km MT so I think I did well.  I know in the US I probably could have found something for less but this is local and no headaches involved in importing it.  I really do think he under valued his car considering how rare it is as well.  It's should all be finalized next week.  I'm pretty excited to finally own a wagon.

This price seems pretty reasonable for the Calgary area. These (Subarus) are very popular here and with the high average incomes in Calgary the prices tend to be a bit higher than the rest of Canada in my experience.

I have the same car but black and love it. Just check the ownership history and make sure it hasnt spent too much time out east. When I was looking for my Saabaru I found one locally that had spent its early years in NS and it has extensive surface rust.

Re: Look to grab this... Good price?

I paid more for mine in Calgary  sadbanana. I'd do it. There are hardly any subarus for sale in Calgary, and even they go for more than that.

Edit: Oh and welcome!  embeer

Congratulation on the acquisition!  biggrin

I'm also tuned in to see what you're going to do to the  92x wheel wise, seeing you've done some extensive work with all your other cars.  smile

Welcome to the  92x family!

Re: Look to grab this... Good price?

Thanks I had a new set lined up but looks like the seller may have a change of heart. Oh well I still have 3 summer sets and 2 winter sets. I love that the legacy can share shoes with the saab!
