I saw the clip of Hamilton stuffing his car into a barrier. Does that count?

Re: Any F1 fans here... New regs make this an interesting year...

Been lightly following the testing. I think the biggest struggle is going to be the regulations on when and how much of ers one can use. That and only having 100kg or whatever of fuel. It honestly seems a little ridiculous, but hopefully will still make for good racing. Hoping the rb10 sucks.

You may have hope.  To ensure the 2013 Championship, manpower was spent to keep the RB9 on top when most of the other teams had given up (past the break) and began work in greater earnest on the new 2014 spec cars than RB could. Anyway, there is hope... (Source, Autoweek, Year in Review)

RBR was practically dead last in testing. Only ran a handful of laps while Merc AMG finished at the top with impressive long runs. I'm a happy camper atm, but there is a long way to go to get the drivers and constructors in hand. I'm hoping Merc can keep the momentum through the season! driving

I'm hoping Hamilton can pull some magic this year. They have some good testing and reliability this year so far. Much better than the Renault packaging it looks like.  Ferrari looks pretty solid to. Would love to see some Hamilton/Alonso interaction at the front this year.

Hamilton/Alonso take 2! I can already see those four guys, Hamilton, Alonso, Rosberg and Raikkonen, battling at the top all season. I'm not a big fan of Ferrari, but Alonso and Raikkonen together is pretty damn sweet. McLaren looks good as well. I'm excited to see if some lower echelon teams can get consistent points; seems as if the new rules have this thing wide open.

And more trouble with RBR today... I kinda want to see them midfield this year. Make Vettle fight for it.

arrow-up kind of curious to see if Vettle has the stones and the gratitude to fight for point scraps from the mid-field on a regular basis. But, I suspect what Jim said...RBR is sandbagging, at least to a degree.

Re: Any F1 fans here... New regs make this an interesting year...

McLaren and Mercedes are still looking good and with Merc AMG being my favorite team, I couldn't be happier. Finally got the long stints and tire degradation problems sorted out it seems. Thanks to the W05. Excited for this season and seeing what guys like Massa can do in the Williams and how Force India finds itself. They're looking strong.

Re: Any F1 fans here... New regs make this an interesting year...

Loved it. All of it. My favorite things from this weekend so far:

Hamilton/Rosberg being in good spots for the start of the race is awesome. I hope they (Merc) get the WCC this year, and I'd like to see Lewis win WDC again.
Williams, the car itself looks great in the Martini livery, and Bottas and Massa have a strong car to compete with it looks like. I was at the race in Montreal last year when he surprised everyone and landed the car in P3 after a wet qualifying session.
McLaren look to be headed the right direction this year. Magnussen looks to be pretty impressive, both from testing times and now P4!
Best of all is Vettel. I wonder how Riccardo's P2 tastes...

My only disappointment really is Lotus. I'm a RoGro fan, and seeing him having such a miserable time is sad. The only good thing from that situation is Maldonado getting boned.

Super excited for the race!

I have had no time to watch testing nor qualifying, but already have my DVR set. The New Era begins!

Re: Any F1 fans here... New regs make this an interesting year...

Watched the race last night and was incredibly disappointed for Lewis. Great run from Rosberg, Magnussen and Bottas though. Unfortunate for Massa. I woke up this morning and was reading the news following the event and noticed that Ricciardo, who finished P2, was stripped of 2nd place! Flowing more than 100kgs of fuel/hr.  Maybe that's just another sign that it's not their year - I'm hoping so!

Re: Any F1 fans here... New regs make this an interesting year...

Yea. Red Bull ignored the FIA and kept pushing the car over the limit. Personally I feel for the driver, but your team fucked up and should pay the price of the disqualification. Use the parts or pay the price, other teams made sure to operate within the limit. I'm tired of Red Bull thinking they are above the officials.
Otherwise, I agree with you Norcal...

arrow-up  +1, feel really, really bad for Riccardo, pretty thrilled for Magnusson (sp?), quite a nice, mature start for the dude's maiden voyage.  Really, really hate the flatulent new engine note.  Needs moar cylinders to fix the note.

I have to agree with this.  The 2014 F1 engines don't sound good anymore.

Re: Any F1 fans here... New regs make this an interesting year...

arrow-up hell, even the IMSA GTU Mazda RX7s and the GrandAm RX8 AND the horrible sounding, but LOUD Zakspeed (4cyl) Mustang/Capri of the eighties IMSA GTO era sounded better than the elephant farts coming out of those cars.  I WAS excited to the potential of F1 coming to NY (NJ, in reality), now, not sure.

Yeah that is pretty  sadbanana. The screamin' V8 days are over. The technology with the V6 and the turbo energy recovery stuff is pretty awesome though.
