Damn, I'd buy if this was closer. I just swapped my blown motor with a JDM 205 and I'm wanting to rebuild my old motor and throw it in a car like this. $1000 shipped? big_smile

I bought it. My first South American Ambush Buggy

I'm local to the seller. As I was 5 minutes away I got a call from the seller asking when I would be there because he had a sudden influx of calls...lol. I assume that was you guys.

I actually bought the car from the owner, in the Subaru dealer parking lot. They sold him the car a year ago for $6,000, now they are telling him it would be another $6,000 to fix, so he wanted to cut his losses and move on. I felt bad for him, paid full asking price, didn't even make an offer.

I am torn between putting a motor in it (Haven't even tried diagnosing it yet) or parting it. My wife is due with our first-born any day now, so it will chill on the trailer till the little fella arrives.

If i end up parting it i will keep the shell. I am a big WRX guy (Have an 02 bug-eye) and a big V8 guy (Have an LS1 swapped 96 Impala SS) so I have been looking for a WRX shell to test an LS1 swap on before I do it in mine.

So does anyone need parts and want to sway my decision that direction? It is starting to rust in the common areas which would make flipping it a bit harder and more of a gamble.

PS: I'm semi tempted to put the 9-2x front clip on my bug-eye...

LS1 swapped Saabaru would be a 1st - DOOOOO IT! But then again, a Saabaru sedan would be cool, and a lot of folks on the forum are looking for headlights, fenders and the Aero hood so you could part it out without too much trouble. I vote LS1 swap. banana

If itsnotmeitsyou doesn't take the hood I'll take 2nd dibs. I think you could definitely part the car out pretty easily. Lots of hard to find parts.

That's all I have at the moment, there were none in the ad. Just a reminder that I won't be doing anything till the little dude gets here, but glad there is some interest in parts.

Thanks for the warm welcome btw. I'm pretty sure it's gonna be parted out at this point, but not 100%. If it does I'll make a good thread for it.

Thanks, I remember seeing the beginning of that thread, never saw it got that far.

I followed the thread from user Civette, who I believe was the first, on his WRB car. It got me all horned up about it because it mixes two of my favorite vehicles and the reported weight change is negligible.
