New to the Atlanta

I just moved to Atlanta from Colorado. Is there a strong Saabaru crew out here? Are there any meet ups that happen?

Re: New to the Atlanta

Whats up man! I don't think there is a very strong Saabaru base out here. There are a few members kicking around. I sold mine about a year ago, but stay active on the forum. There used to be regular car club meets at The Varsity restaurant in Atlanta, but I'm so far removed from that crowd these days that I don't know if they still do it. You can also join http://www.importatlanta.com/forums/content/ and check out whats going on with the local import car crowd.

If you like racing, then you can check out Import Showdown. http://www.importshowdown.com/ I used to be actively involved in organizing this event and did the announcing at the track. It happens twice a year and is a lot of fun.

Re: New to the Atlanta

Thanks for the info. Im living on the West Side so the Varsity is pretty close to me. I hear they have pretty bomb food so Ill go check that out. The importatlanta group sounds like a good way to get into a car crowd especially since the subi / saab presence isnt very strong out here. I was looking into track days at Barber and Road Atlanta...Im not a big fan of Drag racing but it might be a good way to meet some people. Thanks again for the help.

Re: New to the Atlanta

As far as Subarus go, there is a good bit running around. Saabarus are of course just rare in any part of the U.S.  tongue

Check out Atlanta Motorsports Park as well. It's up 400, but worth the drive. You can also just go up to Helen, eat some German food, and hit the twisty mountain roads for a day of off track fun  up They will start October Fest soon up there, so check it out if you get the chance.

Re: New to the Atlanta

I'm a new Saabaru owner myself. I'm north of Atlanta OTP.  The Saabaru crowd here is pretty small. Previous owner said he has only seen one other Saabaru driving around. Subaru's can be found easily enough if you know where to look.
