This is just a completely stupid price, right?

http://denver.craigslist.org/ctd/5378437028.html

I'm looking for a 92x aero and these guys think they have something special apparently. Sure, it has less than 70k miles, but that doesn't justify an extra $4k on the price. It looks like it's in great condition and the wife won't drive stick, so it'd be a good car for her... but I called the guy and he's trying to justify it as a "rare" car. Sounds like crap to me.

1. It's automatic, it's not the rare car people want
2. It's automatic, most of you wouldn't even consider it
3. KBB lists it as $8500 max
4. Truecar has several available (with a bit more miles) for $7k.

Is this dealer just stupid? $12k is way, way too much for that car. Or am I missing something?

Yup, overpriced. It's rare, but that doesn't make it worth any more.

Re: This is just a completely stupid price, right?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I thought that KBB's $8500 was high. I'm not interested in paying more than $8k for an 11-year-old vehicle whose manufacturer doesn't even exist any more. I'm having a helluva time finding one under 100k miles though. This one is pristine and low mileage, but I don't care as much about pristine as I do the overall price.

Being an auto I'd agree on the 8k price point. If it were manual it may fetch 500 more.

You realize the car is more or less a Subaru WRX and was manufactured by Fuji Heavy Industries (aka Subaru). I think you should be able to find an auto for around $8k with under 100,000 miles. Just be patient and the right car will come along.

Re: This is just a completely stupid price, right?

I like nice things; the subaru version just doesn't scratch that itch. wink

At least the minneapolis sale has an optional warranty. Yay!!

That said, if anyone here has an 05 or 06 9-2x with reasonable mileage and in good condition, please know that I am a buyer at realistic prices.

Re: This is just a completely stupid price, right?

What the what is going on? Wasn't looking to sell mine but I have been approached by several buyers in the past couple of months.

One guy is offering to trade his 2012 Volvo XC70 with all options and a couple of aftermarket goodies for my car. He has all the records on the car, it looks to be in great shape, and a mechanic found no problems.
My silver 2005 Saab 9-2x Aero came with the Sports Package, Premium, and center gauge (Lamco) options.
The Volvo has 80k miles and mine has 60k but this is still just nuts. I won't completely believe it until we have something in writing but I was able to find a couple of the Saab 9-2x Aero cars going for $14k to 19k. Have people completely lost their minds? Was the car featured in some movie or what?

I'd assume Performance = 17" wheels, luxury = leather/sunroof, and center gauge is pretty self explanatory. I didn't know the gauges were even offered as an option for our cars though.

Re: This is just a completely stupid price, right?

Luxury is actually referred to as "premium package" in the documentation if you'd like to do research on it, and performance is actually "sport package." Premium comes with leather and HIDs (but not sunroof), and sport comes with 17s and the sunroof. More details here.

Re: This is just a completely stupid price, right?

Post corrected.

The SAAB dealer in Santa Ana, California offered the sports gauge cluster as an option. From what I have been able to find, the prices are still pretty high for a 2005. Popular car
