reliability issues

Hi fellow  92x owners!

I've had my 05 linear for just over a year now and in that time I've had to replace the catalytic converter twice as well as getting a whole new exhaust system the second time, on top of that I've had to replace the washer fluid tank and a few other minor things. the car has about 155k km on it, and I'm pretty religious about getting my oil changed when I'm supposed to.

So my question I guess is might there be a reason my car is seemingly constantly broken? the check engine light seems to be on more often than not and with such low km's it seems really strange to me. I don't drive the car particularly hard other than some occasional donuts when it's snowy out, however I do drive the car 45 minutes to work every other day.

Re: reliability issues

What are the actual issues you are having?  What codes is it throwing?

Replacing the exhaust on an 11 year old car is not really a reliability issue, that is just wear and tear.  I'm guessing the plastic of the washer fluid tank cracked or something?  Again, pretty standard for an 11 year old car, especially depending on where you live and if the car is garaged.

Re: reliability issues

Have you tried replacing the 02 sensor vs the cat? Are you using an aftermarket cat?

Less is not more in this case scenario. The more info the better.

Re: reliability issues

i was told it was a 420 code, i don't really know a whole lot but thats what they told me. As far as I know the previous time was an oem cat, and this time it definitely was because I got the work done at a subaru dealership. As far as the 02 sensor goes i have had it replaced and i believe it was done about a year ago after the first catalytic converter was replaced
