Someone talk me out of this. (too late, My VF39 swap thread)

I found a vf39 pretty cheap and I have always wanted to go stage 3 if that's what you wanna call it. I like my car at stage two but as it always happens I want more power.  alot power.

Was planning to go with standard STI pinks. Mishimoto top mount. And protune.

Re: Someone talk me out of this. (too late, My VF39 swap thread)

Update. Spent about 6 hrs this weekend swapping turbo and injectors. Gbods...  facepalm Got everything in and started the car... Engine is missing like a MF!!! On one cylinder. Stood there pissed off for about 30 seconds when out of nowhere  the car starts running beautifully!! Yes!!  Must have just been air bound or something. Anyways, flashed my Accessport to 2.0 VF39 STI pinks OTS map but i can't get on it yet because I'm waiting on the intercooler, shows scheduled for delivery tomorrow.  Limping to work and back tomorrow on no boost.  Scheduled for protune at Circuit Motorsports on Wednesday!!! Can't wait!!

WOOOHOOO! The fun is about to begin man. Just hold out on getting on it at all until after you have the tune done. I know it can be a pain after the all the work to have to keep waiting, my radiator cracked while tuning the first time and the tuner was so booked up that it took another 6 weeks until I was able to get back to him to finish the tune. Talk about limp mode.  unamused

It was well worth it though because I've been fairly trouble free since then and have done about 20K miles at stage 3.5 and had been running stage 2 for about 35K before that. Its a completely different animal.

FWIW my car has about 110k on a stage 2 protune that maxed out the stock injectors. Still runs flawlessly.

http://i854.photobucket.com/albums/ab107/reschluter/IMG_20160326_133901526_zps21vbuqy1.jpg

here is a pic of the goodies while Im, unfortunatly, Tracking down a fuel leak. I think one of the injector seals/orings. anyways, too hot now, waiting to cool off.

http://i854.photobucket.com/albums/ab107/reschluter/IMG_20160326_133918094_HDR_zpsllnc1jih.jpg

Here is my current boost control set up (untill protune (which, by the way was postponed until the 1st  unamused))
was running stage 2 ots map w ebcs but cobb only has a ots stage 3 map for the stock boost controller. So I dug it out and zip tied it in  biggrin

http://i854.photobucket.com/albums/ab107/reschluter/IMG_20160317_120851814_zpstafimzgw.jpg

and finally... here she is in all her slightly used (still good, no smoking, full 18.5 lbs of boost) glory.

Even on the OTS map this thing pulls like a Beast!!! I cant wait for the tune!!! Dyno graph to come...

Circuit Motorsports in Orlando. Mishimoto intercooler.

Update: fuel leak was just a cut injector oring. Must not have used enough lube. Lol. No more leak.

Those rubber orings are super easy to break.

That TMIC looks weird as hell, keep an eye on that silicone piping that goes directly over the turbo.

Yeah. The feed hose does run super close to the heat shield. But I have touched it after driving hard and surprisingly it wasn't all that hot. I will watch it though.
