Quick Subaru door interchange Q.

We have an 05 Linear that's got substantial body damage.  We were planning to just scrap her, but have since decided to try to get her back on the road and give it to our son who's getting his license next January.

It needs the front passenger door, hood,  and fender.   I know that the fenders and hoods were Saab only parts, but I haven't found a definitive answer on whether the doors from an Impreza will fit.    I don't really care much about the interior panels or even the electric mirrors etc.    Can someone confirm if the doors are a match?

The front doors are the same on ours as an Inpreza wagon/sedan but the rear doors only will match an Inpreza wagon because the fender flares on the sedan carry into the rear door

Re: Quick Subaru door interchange Q.

Looks like the kid has a project car for himself since Subie doors are much cheaper and more plentiful.

The car's been sitting for almost 2 years, and started only a couple times since.   Not ideal, but I think we'll have no problem getting her back on the road.

Thanks everyone.

Re: Quick Subaru door interchange Q.

Doors will fit. Glass is different for wagon/sedan regardless of Impreza vs 92x.

I have a color matched door for a planned swap eventually and I'll have to switch the mirror, door cards and glass. Yay.

Re: Quick Subaru door interchange Q.

I have been down this road replacing a front drivers door on an 06 Aero

all 02-07 impreza front door SHELLS (just the metal) are the same.
The wagon and sedan use different window track/glass/motor.
theoretically you could use a sedan door on a wagon if you had the WHOLE door, but you couldn't swap a wagon window glass into a sedan door without swapping ALL of the internals of the door over, and that is a pain in the ass
Also at some point the factory glass tint/shade changed. so you would not want to use a 2002 Impreza window on a 2006 because the glass shade changed.

best case scenario you find a wagon door in the same color from a same/similar year car.
worst case scenario you find the door color you want (or similar color if you're getting the door shell painted, so the primered inside parts match) and then you swap everything from your original door over to it (track, glass, motor, wiring, etc)
