Should i buy a manual 05 92x aero?

ive been looking for a new car for awhile and always wanted a 92x aero. usually all i find are automatics but ive finally found and 05 with a manual. the problem is it that it has high miles... 185k and im not sure what to expect with this high of miles. the owner is asking $3800. is this a good deal? can i get it for lower? any suggestions appreciated.

It depends on if they are 185,000 neglected miles or not. If they are 185K maintained miles, and it's clean, go for it.

$3800 if it's in decent shape seems fair, and the car should have plenty of life in it. You'll need to decide if you feel it has been maintained, if the rust is bad (including the rear strut towers that you can't see).

I'll sell you mine, but it's gonna be a little bit more than $3800

I vote yes.  Our well maintained & babied EJ205 needed to be replaced @ 193K.

It's a lot of miles but you'll see loads of 200k+ ej205s for sale. I had 220k on my MY02 WRX and that spent the last four years of its life getting thrashed ice racing. This isn't a ej255/257 which has significantly more reliability issues. The engine isn't the car killer here, it's rot. If it is structurally sound the car will maintain value and keep on trucking.

Additional comment.  If that car was a FL car and in the Jacksonville area, it would sell in a day @ $3800.

We have a great local Subaru shop that will put in a "30K" JDM engine/new clutch/new flywheel for ~ $3500.  That's what we did a year ago when we needed a new engine @193K.

I have a Manual 92X Aero with 101K miles.  Are you still looking for one?
