Franken-TMIC?

I've got the opportunity to get a 11' STI Top Mount for a good deal, does anyone know if i can make this work for an 05' Aero? If its more than little to no modification I'm just gonna scrap the idea

Re: Franken-TMIC?

If it connects to the turbo with a Y-pipe like your stock one yes it will work, may take manipulation of AC lines or mounting brackets but same went with my jdm sti intercooler install. Also you will need to get rid of your under scoop splitter to gain full benefits of the bigger size

Re: Franken-TMIC?

I'm not familiar much with those WRXs but I'm fairly certain that wouldn't work.

Does the By-pass valve mount in the same location?
Will your intercooler hoses all mount the same?
Will the intercooler have the same mounting tabs in the same location to mount w/o modification?
Is it taller/wider that it would cause clearance issues w/ other parts including the hood splitter?

Any issues with the answer to one of those questions will make it more than little to no modification. If you cut out your scoop splitter air wouldn't get directed as smoothly to where it needs to go over the intercooler and you could loose all your gainz from bigger IC just by removing that.

Re: Franken-TMIC?

If I'm not mistaken it is a little larger and will require some hacking or moving of lines. Scrapped

Re: Franken-TMIC?

It's off an EJ25x engine, the TMIC will fit. It is big, you'll want to get an aftermarket elbow hose to make fitting it onto the turbo outlet easier.  I have a MY16 STI TMIC on my car, big big big. Needs to come off to access the DP bolts, gets a good deal of heat soak if you don't have a turbo blanket or shield.
