Re: Matching Subaru Part Numbers to use when buying stuff for the 9-2x

Anyone know which AC Drier will work in the Saabarus? I have a 2005 9-2X Areo and the 2005 AC Drier is not the right one. It looks like it could be the 2003 WRX drier, but not sure. I will post info if I find it first.

Would love this info too. Actually I wasn't 100% sure my car chirped. I thought it chirped when I test drove it, but it hasn't since except for 1 time and that just freaked me out because I didn't know it could.

Guess I need one as well.

There is a thread on nasioc on how to repair the chirp.  It turns out that its just a bad solder point.  I took mine apart, resoldered it... good as new!

I just got done fixing mine. It worked really well. Basically just pull the center grill, remove buzzer, open, resolder, and seal back up.

Shouldn't take that long, but I didn't have a solder gun so I used a lighter to heat a paper clip to melt the solder.  facepalm

We'll see how it lasts. cool banana

Re: Matching Subaru Part Numbers to use when buying stuff for the 9-2x

^^ I think the dealer had the same issue when I was looking for my lines.  Make sure they are for the wagon, and match your transmission.  That narrows down the list...  I went to the parts desk at the dealer to get mine, and I don't remember how they picked the actual part, except that we just kept getting more and more specific with the description and eventually we were only left with one choice.

I should've kept / taken a photo of the bag  facepalm

Re: Matching Subaru Part Numbers to use when buying stuff for the 9-2x

Several track days and the road salt used in the Northeast pretty much killed my brake disks. Here are the part numbers off the boxes I received.

Front disk brake Aero:
SAAB Part# 32006171
Subaru Part# 26300AE060

Rear disk brake Aero:
SAAB Part#32009802
Subaru Part# 26700FE080

I am also replacing the vacuum hose as there is a slow leak where the hose connects to the Vaccum Booster. Ran into a bit of a problem as neither the Subaru dealership nor the Volvo/SAAB dealership seem to be able to find the spring clamps that hold the ends of the vacuum hose. Anyone know the part number?

Re: Matching Subaru Part Numbers to use when buying stuff for the 9-2x

Hey I really need to redo my suspension ('05 Aero) and I can't do coilovers as I use my car a lot in the winter as a skiier (ottawa, canada) and they'll get destroyed.  Any problems using wrx/sti parts or does anyone know a site that will sell shocks for 92-x specifically without a full coilover set-up (I was gonna use Tein springs).

Appreiate any advice.....thanks in advance.

Shawn.

So far I have learned nothing. But that's probably as much my fault as yours.
