Re: Got a leaf - minor mod starts

If the key FOB is under the seat anyone can just start the car and go.
Maybe if i can put in a led container it wont be able to transmit even while in the car

Sorry no answer for 2nd alternative --> iamchris

That is awesome. So there is a "air card" or something like that on the phone with cell service?

I would assume so because i can get updates on the charge and also turn the AC on and off and start/restart the charge if its stopped.
I think there is an aftermarket android app with more capabilities that im not aware of YET.

Aren't there boxes/bags that you can put it in that will block the signal? I'm thinking like the bags they send you when you order an E-ZPass in the NY/NJ area.
If you have a slim key that at least opens the car you can put the key fob in one of those boxes/bags inside the car.

Another idea is a saddle bag (first pictures) or a frame bag (second and third pictures):

Re: Got a leaf - minor mod starts

I actually had a saddle bag that had my spare tire stuff and a few CO2 canisters. A triangle bag with some first aid stuff. But for my personals (wallet, money, keys, cell phone) I used something like this, but smaller (way smaller actually):

Re: Got a leaf - minor mod starts

There is a telematics module that allows the car to communicate over a cellular network to the data providers server farm.

The Carwings apps are front ends to manage the car via those servers - you aren't interfacing directly to the car.

I'd be concerned that a tire lever might start pressing buttons as it jostles around. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to use your 3D printer and save some space in your tube bag.

Re: Got a leaf - minor mod starts

Finally got a chance to test the prototype part.
im impressed with myself - I normally take 2-3 tries to get the fits and alignment on parts i make.  I use orange for all my protoparts.  The alignment is right on the tolerance i need to open up a tad the oring seal is not as compressible as i thought.

Re: Got a leaf - minor mod starts

Bixenon is now on the car -  roxor
I like it like it like like

Here are pics from phone cam

The cutoff is nice for a non projector lens
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-submJhpjLP4/U731QxTkjwI/AAAAAAAAC54/DbnEqSTN328/s1600/photo-719308.JP

The increase brightness and the contrast of objects is what i really appreciate
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vK07WXPelGA/U731RqBOUrI/AAAAAAAAC6E/Ae4SAawKido/s1600/image-722018.jpeg

I took a differnet route and made an adapter to eliminate the need for any drilling and made the install a very simple - tru plug and play [No cutting / No Drilling / NO Sealant]  AND to go back to stock is a 20 minute conversion.

Attach are the pictures of the 3d printed adapter (orange color) i added and how the ballasts and controller are mounted .....
