Mother of God.
I'm ecstatic. A true Golf R and STI competitor from a domestic brand.

Sounds like they've discovered open differentials.
Now if it is 100% of available power to the wheel with the most traction I would be impressed. But it is hard to tell from this lightweight fan-boy article.

I want to see it in Frozen White.

It uses a twin-clutch rear differential unit so it's not some FWD favored Haldex. This AWD system seems for real.
That being said, if you cover the nose it looks eerily similar to the last generation WRX hatch. Is this the five-door, AWD, manual gearbox beast that Subaru won't give us?

Honestly not a fan, I still haven't taken delivery on the ST yet, but this announcement makes me happy. Maybe swap a '17 RS drivetrain into my '14 ST down the road

And what about a three-door? They wouldn't sell enough to make it worthwhile, but I don't want five doors. The B-Pillar blocks my peripheral vision.

Perhaps, I'd like to look at it in the flesh to form my opinion, could be my next car.

The only thing I don't like about the car so far is that its not out yet. Wish we didn't have to wait another year to see what it can do. Also, that steering wheel is kinda

I like that they're bringing this to the US but I'm still not a fan of how it looks. A little overdone for my taste - I prefer the Focus ST's more subdued style.
Maybe another contender in the hot hatch market will force Subaru to bring the hatch back to the US. I'd hope for a wagon, but I know that won't happen

Bet it'll be expensive. I wanna smash that front end with a telephone pole to give it some dimension.

It can send 100% of the 70% it sends to the rear to one [rear] wheel.

Thanks for clarifying that- it's right in the press release, but I haven't seen a blog whose author managed to read it. I would have posted the same but was rushing out the door this am.

60% of the time, it works every time. Sex Panther.

And it will start at only $45,000

Where are you seeing that? I've been seeing that MSRP will be under $40k for a loaded one.

Dat exhaust burble though.
Color selection sucks. Basically a black, stealth grey, white, and a blue (although not the one above) which is the same as the new Ford GT and it's only a show concept color. For under $40K OTD, with a Recaro package, I'd entertain this as my next car. I've had about enough of winter with my FDWLOL Passat lol.

You run snows on the Passat? Why get a Focus RS over a Golf R or STi at that price point?

Quick searches yielded old results I guess. My b, dawg. $40,000 still seems like

100% agree, twice the price of an ST... no thanks.

Yup. General altimax arctics. TCS on it is horrible. STi is sedan only, and the only .:R I ever truly liked was the MKIV.
