Hi Everyone, I just landed myself an awesome deal on a 2005 Saab 9-2x Aero. If there's anyone in the Michigan Detroit Metro area, I'd love to get your opinion/advice on maintenance, potential mods, best saab repair shops in town, etc...

Welcome! But you don't need to find a Saab repair shop anywhere. Subaru shops do just fine since, well, it's a Subaru.

I'm in the area, but know little about anything you are asking after since I do my work myself.
Mods wise, snow tires are really a great thing if you can store them.
KEep your rear hatch latch clean and lubed. They tend to rust.

Out of curiosity, was this a salvaged car? I saw you got a pretty awesome deal on it from your WTB thread and also noticed the Linear wheels on the Aero. Just curious, hopefully the car is great to you either way!

Nope, it was a clean title. I checked the carfax and it was clean as well. I just had a thorough inspection done at a Subaru/Saab dealer and they were surprised on how clean it was. Overall, it's in great shape. The only thing they wanted me to change were the FR axles. The CV joint boot were worn out. There are some imperfections. Couple of scratches here and there. Burnt out foglight bulb. Minimal cracks on the FR windshield and side view mirror.

That's awesome, congrats on a great deal, particularly after you were told your price-range was too low by someone in your WTB thread!

Welcome! Keep up on maintenance and like bentmettle said, keep that hatch handle clean and lubed A dedicated set of summer tires would be my suggestion for the best bang for the buck performance mod. After that a cobb accessport with a stage 1 map helps smooth out throttle response and adds some power. Add swaybars and endlinks for handling then decide where you want to go from there. Check out Unabombers manifesto on nasioc, lots of good info on there!
