There's a 2005 Aero on the island that I see from time to time.  It's got less than 60K miles on it.

Yea I would imagine low miles Aeros are getting quite rare. There was a seller in the bay area recently, maybe 6 months ago, that had an Aero with like 36k miles which is insane but the price they were looking for was equally insane. I bought mine 4 years ago with 44k miles, now I have 105k. Sorry I didn't keep it low miles for ya, I like  too much

There are out there, but hard to find. I bought my 06 Aero 5-spd in March with 67k. 

Bought ours in April with 70k on the odometer.

But basically yeah, you are right, since most of these cars were used as daily drivers and they are 10-11 years old just based on average mileage per year it will get much harder to find ones with under 100k and ones with under 80k are definitely a tough find.

If you are not looking to leave the car stock/original anyway and are open to a motor swap you might as well just get a higher mileage Aero that has a clean body/clean paint and no accident history and swap in a low mileage motor given that it will likely be much easier and cheaper to get your hands on a higher mileage car for a reasonable price.  You could realistically get one with 120k or so on the original motor for a good price and just drive it like that until you have saved up the money for the motor you want.

The only reason I personally would be wanting to find (and pay for) a super low mileage Aero is if I plan on keeping the car all stock and original.  If you plan to modify and or build/swap the car anyway I don't see a reason to buy a low original mileage car, just get one that is clean and accident free at that point.

The above is fun, but not really true. When your girlfriend leaves, you get nothing in return. When you sell your car, the tightness has some value.

That may be true for certain people who are hardcore into a certain specific type of car but I don't think that is true for many people.  Many people want to have a car for a while and then do plan to sell it to get something different in the future, in which case resale value would be a point they would definitely consider when buying a vehicle.  This would not mean that is "not the vehicle for them" but rather it is the vehicle they want at that time but do not plan to keep forever.

To be honest personally I think more the way you do because I tend to want to keep a car that I really like for a long time and am less concerned with resale value but I am sure for each person like us there are just as many who would consider potential resale value in the future to be important to them.

I have 99,700 km on my '05 Aero (62,000 miles). Bought it used in Calgary with half that. Was going to sell it this year, but sure having fun in the snow (Winterpeg).
