It's good. I love GNR. Have you read all their books? Very good.

Can't say that I have. Any ion particular that you'd recommend above the rest?

For the last week, as soon as any podcast I've listened to in the car was done, I've switched over to play the GNR greatest hits on shuffle.  I really want to bust out a ukulele rendition of Don't Cry, but I'm only mediocre on my uke, and a horrible singer...

Re: Tune of the week

Wife and I went to the Ellie Goulding concert last night in Sactown.

A. She killed it!
B. Compared to the other venues she has for rest of the tour (mostly arenas) the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium is quite a bit smaller so we were able to get pretty dang close, opted for hanging in the balcony vs. duking it out on the floor for a close spot.
C. The openers:
Broods - only knew their song 'Bridges' - the mixing didn't do her justice so it was sort of a meh performance
Bebe Rexha - She did an awesome job, her two most well known songs are 'I can't stop drinking about you' and 'Me Myself & I'

Re: Tune of the week

Love the song and video.  Great message.  Feed Me bringing the UK sound, but I see what you are saying in terms of French electronic.

Re: Tune of the week

If I haven't forced you to listen to Pretty Lights already, you gotta give this a listen:

For additional info: this isn't a track off an album this is a "flip" being improvised live by the band off of a produced song.

“We ended up devising something we call ‘flips.” We’ll start with a produced song, and everyone has a philosophy for playing on top of the produced songs. Alvin has acoustic drums that he’ll play on top of it, and we also have drum triggers for electronic drum sounds so we can get a produced sound from the live kit. When I call a ‘flip’ everyone knows that I’m about to filter out the produced track. When the produced music disappears, the live musicians completely switch their sound to something that’s more electronic. Borahm will drop into a synth bass, Alvin will switch to an electronic kick and an electronic snare. It’s like a quick crossfade. It allows us to go from the produced track, with the band accentuating it, to a fully live band without losing something…It’s completely improvised but we’ve put a lot of time into making sure they know, stylistically, where the bounds are.”
