The thread where you tell me about (a little south of) Denver

So I start a job in the Denver area in a few weeks. Greenwood Village, specifically.

I hope to find a place within 5-10 miles of the office to keep commuting time to a bare minimum and make it possible to bike to work at least occasionally.

Any and all info about Denver in general and the Greenwood Village area in particular would be greatly appreciated.

If you want suggestions for things to tell me, how about...
good places to shop for good organic produce
areas to prefer or avoid living (I want quiet-ish and professional, not sirens and college kids)
good gyms (ie, well-equipped with free weights as opposed to having a live dj spinning phat beats)

Greenwood Village....may as well be on Mars to a person from The Peoples Republic of Boulder.....

you will probably be close to a Whole Foods Market, but there are good local chains (Sprouts, Alfalfa's, Lucky Market) that may be down that way.  King Soopers (the stupid name for Krogers around here) has a surprisingly good (and lower cost)selection of organic produce

Can't help with the other two.....

I will mention that back in the day when there was a thriving Denver 92x group, they met at a restaurant called Watercourse, a vegan restaurant, but still one of my wife and I's favorites in Denver.

Doug is the guy to talk to about that area. He had a house somewhere nearby before leaving the state.

That would put me on the other side of the galaxy then.

With I-25 traffic these days, it might be quicker to travel to Mars than Colorado Springs from Boulder.

I work just to South of Greenwood Village at Lincoln & I-25 (Meridian) and I live at Quincy & Reservoir in Aurora. You can PM me if you would like. I have lived in Aurora & Lakewood over the last 23 years. I ride quite a bit around the Meridian Cherry Creek State Park area.

Where are you going to work?

Correct on both counts.  I'd probably be more comfortable in the Springs than here, though.....

Re: The thread where you tell me about (a little south of) Denver

Thanks for the suggestion on Watercourse. Went there my first night here with the friend who flew in with me to bring one of my cats (only one allowed per passenger), and it was great. I'm looking forward to going back.  banana

And thanks for the other pointers/suggestions as well. They've definitely helped in knowing where to go for things as I get my bearings here.

Somehow I missed this thread. I work near dry creek and I25, though live up near City Park. The commute isnt great, but i have seen worse.

Fwiw, there is a local food truck that serves passable beef on weck. I will see if i can dig up the name.
