It's nearly impossible for me to tell the difference between Arctic Silver and Desert Silver by looking at pictures. Do any of you have any better sense for this than I do? Looking at this bumper cover and unclear whether it's Desert Silver or if the white balance is off and it's actually Arctic.:

I think you mean it's hard for you to tell the difference between Arctic Silver and Satin Gray Metallic - those are the two silver colors. Desert Silver is pretty obviously different as it's tan.
That being said, my spidey color sense tells me that's Artic Silver. I agree it's hard to tell in a pic of just the bumper, but the shot of the whole car makes it a little easier

Nah he is right, it is tough to tell if that is Desert or Arctic, but what it is is Arctic. There is some brown/yellow coloring from heat or sun exposure that makes it look almost Deserty in a couple places.
But I fail to see how the color silver really matters, that bumper needs serious work no matter what color it is.

Curious... I think desert silver is pretty obviously different but meh.
And yea, that bumper is pretty dang beat.

Phew, I thought I was the only color blind person on this topic.
Yes, the bumper is beat, but somebody backed into mine and now there's a small tear in it. Mechanic says it's just the cover (support looks good), and painting/installing a new part would cost $600 + part, which I don't want to do right now. I was trying to see if this would be a good opportunistic fix.

For the price I wouldn't call it opportunistic, but I guess I don't know how bad your small tear is.
