Finally changed the battery!

Well after 10 years and 140,000km my original battery was starting to get a little slow for my tastes during start up.  It was below freezing the other day and I was thinking you know its time.  So out she came.  Panasonic OEM battery.  In my life I've never had a battery last this long and start the car every time. Winter or summer.  I can only say that the battery was never killed dead because the headlights turn off when you shut the key off...unlike other cars Ive owned.  I bet I could get another year out of the battery but the weather is getting pretty damn cold and I can't get stuck trying to experiment wink

Re: Finally changed the battery!

Damn, thats wild. I had to replace the battery in my saabaru shortly after buying it 4 and a half years ago at 50k miles. Just had to replace that one this last week. I was surprised at just how little notice I got before it pooped out when it was on its last legs. Noticed one morning it was turning the starter slower than normal, and by the next morning it was completely dead.

arrow-up Same for me - put a Kirkland battery in mine in 2009, which left me stranded at the Charlotte airport upon my return from a business trip last year.

Re: Finally changed the battery!

That's definitely more of a bummer by a long shot! ha. At least mine died in my garage, and I was able to pick up a new battery that morning using my wife's car before heading in to work.
