Re: EJ207 Swap 2005 92x - Feedback pls

Absolutely love it. I personally went with the v7, as it has forged pistons from the factory and is generally thought to be the strongest of the ej207s.

I have over 30k on my swap and it's been trouble free. The engine truly is great and a huge upgrade in overall enjoyment over the 205 in my opinion. I recently upgraded to a dom 1.5 with supporting mods and couldnt be happier. These engines sing at the upper rpm, and now that I went equal length the sound of this engine at 8k rpm is utterly amazing.

If you blew your 205 and are on the fence it's a no-brainer to go with the 207 if you have the means to do so.

The biggest risk of getting a JDM engine is getting one that is good.  Unless you pay to have the block split and looked at you run a risk of getting a lemon.  I would try to find a seller that offers a first run warranty on one.

JDM Racing/JSoec offers 30 days on their engines.

Ha, make sure it's 30 days from install then, or just be ready to get it going soon after arrival smile

Have heard nothing but positive things about engines from Jspec/Jdmracing. When buying my 6 speed swap from Jspec they were ok holding it at their warehouse for a while until there was time to get it installed; the 30 days doesn't start until you take delivery. For some motors they'll give you compression test results too.

Re: EJ207 Swap 2005 92x - Feedback pls

I cant say enough positive things about Japan Parts Service. Top notch all around. They had video of the car running in Japan prior to importing, and video of compression tests once the engine landed in the states. They have the standard 30 day startup guarantee as well. Everything they post up is as clean as they come and my engine was no exception. My swap was complete with everything and more, plus there wasn't a single broken clip, cover nor were there any cut wires etc. They are easy to get a hold of and are very friendly as well. Also, their pricing is in line or better than some of the other bigger named importers from what I've seen.
