I didn't think new cars still used the fender mounted 3 ft vertical wire. I would have guessed they we all roof stubbies or shark fins.

That sign doesn't mean shit.  Of course the car wash is responsible for damage like that.  Would easily be able to recover damages if they pursued legal action.

Re: The Uncool Shit Thread :unamused:

It was his fault.  The car wash didn't cause the incident, him not reading the signs (which most say to remove antennas) caused it.  If I went into a car wash with my windows down, could I sue for damages done to my interior?

That case was as far from unreasonable as you could imagine.

Re: The Uncool Shit Thread :unamused:

I work for a car dealer (small, family owned with specialty cars) and we buy/sell some cars on a site from Ally called Smart Auction.  Can bid/make offers on other dealers' inventory they post.  We bought a 2013 WRX (for me) on there Friday.  I was super stoked for it.  Got a call from the dealer today saying they "accidentally" sold it Friday and didn't know we bought it.  Called today as a random buyer (not from my dealership) to see if it was still available and they said they just sold it today.  So obviously they knew we had it bought and decided to sell it full price retail knowing they would still make more money after getting hit with a $500 fee from Ally for shafting us.  Sorry, I'm just really upset right now mad

End rant.

I hate this new thing where the gauge cluster is just a screen. I want needles moving, damnit!

The first car I remember doing this was the Lexus LFA, and on Top Gear they said they were FORCED to go with a digital display instead of physical gauges because the engine revved just so fast that a regular gauge just couldn't keep up. What a complete load of marketing horseshit.

Unfortunate. Tough to say what was done wrong in a situation like that too. Could have been a very short period of time it all took place in.
