Polish and then put on vinyl overlay then never touch again.

I'm sick of having to drop a bumper to polish the headlights.  I'mma give this a shot. Thx for the suggestion.

Re: New to me 92x So third owner

arrow-up Why would you need to drop the bumper? You can just use painter's tape around the edge so that you dont damage the paint

Yea, that's my plan soon. I had vinyl overlays on my last set of headlights (before I traded w/ Miles to go reflector-delete) and just haven't gotten around to doing a solid polishing job to reinstall some vinyl. On the to-do list.

Re: New to me 92x So third owner

arrow-up I just used two layers of masking tape to mask off the bumper cover when I polished mine, worked fine... Dropping the bumper cover is not difficult - but not necessary...

We don't do much of on-topic here.

But, I'll try - where did you buy the Saabaru? Looks like I'd expect the car to be on those concrete blocks.  biggrin

Yes that is the plan. Just have to get my punch list completed. Was hoping to have it started by now, but since limited time to work on it and I lost a day. I'm behind my self imposed schedule. Will get there soon enough.

Found that I misplaced a container of bolts, so have to replace a few things.

Re: New to me 92x So third owner

Well tomorrow the local wiring/cluster guru comes over to rewire AVCS and the JDM ECU. After that, connect wires, install radiator, coolant, battery, intercooler, bleed slave, throttle cables and prime for starting.  Woot, woot!

Re: New to me 92x So third owner

I bled mine alone, I used a long plastic tube from the house vacuum cleaner. Pump 3 times and hold the pedal down while anchoring the other end of the plastic pipe on the front of the front seat rail. Then I go to the front of the car and open the bleed screw. Worked for me, good luck dude.

Re: New to me 92x So third owner

banana banana banana banana

Lit it off tonight.

Have a couple of JDM related codes one that I can translate.  P1507 or P0507 US.  Have to check the throttle cable adjustment as it is Idle control and it idles at 2k.
Others were TGV1 Open and TG2 Open both giving me code P1096.  I cannot find those codes in the Saab DTC chart.  But am tired and will research in the morning and discuss with guy who rewired SAVCS.  I'm just happy no rod knock - LOL.

Also ran into an issue I solved by buying a Mishimoto Intercooler to TB and Turbo hose.  I could not get the intercooler to seat due to the heater core coolant pipe on the JDM motor being right over the middle of the transmission housing. Swapping the stock hose to the Mishimoto hose and I was able to seat the intercooler into the throttle body inlet hose and turbo outlet first try like it was made to seat that way.  roxor

Happy, happy joy, joy ATM biggrin

up up to Oakos Auto for having parts in stock and being local to me!!

Re: New to me 92x So third owner

Well going to have to put it on back burner for a minute.  Generic reader will not give me PID data so I cannot read sensors.  Starts and runs, but idle flux then seems to miss.
I'll have to get Tactrix and Open Source software to get data or find someone local that has Tactrix.  Kinda frustrated - but so goes the battle.

I wanted to be able to see ECU data to troubleshoot, without data flying blind. Need to see neutral safety switch status and engine miss data.  I like data. banghead

Got Tactrix coming so all I need to do is download some software and hopefully be able to diagnose my issue.
