sorry for bumping up an old thread but i have a chance to pick up a set of bugeye seats as well (came from a 2002 wrx) but would really like to retain the heated seats. dont care about the interior not matching at the moment. i can live without the leather seats

any tips or diy onlince instructions on taking out the heating element from the saab seats and swapping them into the bugeyes??

i've searched here and came up with nothing

went to pick up the seats yesterday but when i got there, the seller had taken the seats apart. in the photo the seats were together so i was expecting to simply load the seats in the car and go. last thing i expected was to have to assemble the seats.  needless to say, i was disappointed and left

did some more research and found out the sti guys are pulling the support springs in the seats to give the seat padding more give. allowing u to sink in to the seat further.

so i decided to do this to the lower portion of the leather 92x seats today. the part where u sit. i think the leather still has to stretch to sink in more, compared to the cloth seats. i did this because i found that my thighs start cramping a tiny bit after about 10 mins of city driving. doesnt hurt but its definitely uncomfortable. i even tried switching shoes with thinner outsoles and no help

so with the springs pulled underneath the bottom part of the seats, the area where most of your weight is now lower. you sit lower and now my thighs are supported

Bumping an old thread: I just put bug eye seats in my 9-2x but the air bag light came on after joining up the connector from the bugeye seats to the Saab harness. The seats are from a wagon too. Any recommendations???

you sure it clicked in? The 02-03 seats only got the seatbelt sensor. As far an i know only 06+ Impreza got the seats with srs side airbags (as an 05 saab uses an 06-07 hawkeye harness)

They aren't exactly the same but are very very close.  The lower frame is very different, I tried to put the bugeye seat frame into my 92x seat as they sit as bit lower. No dice. 

I spent hours sitting in both in my garage as I use them when surfing the web trying to fix car problems. I wouldn't be able to tell them apart.

I think it just goes back to 'people want what they don't have'. I don't have a problem with the 92x seat cushioning and bolstering. Just the fact that the light colored fabric shows every little stain.

Well they're at least more supportive than the seats in my Charger.
