Hello guys n gals. New to the life. I've been looking for a Saabaru for a couple years and stumbled across this gem of a forum 2 weeks ago. I live in UT and just purchased an 06 Aero 5MT mostly sight-unseen from a dealer outside of Philadelphia. I fly out next Wednesday to pick it up and drive 2800 miles in a round about way homeward.
More to the point, 2800 miles is a long way to drive in 4 or 5 days. The car only has 49k miles on it, I'm curious what are some key items to check when I get there to make sure nothing goes out on the way home. I'm by no means mechanically inclined but I work in a body shop & at least know the anatomy. Or if any Philly-area patrons know of a good shop that would give it a good look over without jabbing me. I know the dealer just replaced the clutch and the power steering pump but that's about it. The car has obviously sat a lot of its life and I've never owned one, or an Impreza of that era. What kind of items tend to go out on these bad boys?
-Wasn't sure where to post this.
Thanks
Edit: Carfax said serpentine belt done 20k ago

With only 50k on it other than fluids and belts, tire condition IMHO you should be good to go.

New clutch at 49k? Was it a driver's ed car?

Hah let's hope not. It was a 1 owner, hopefully nothing else got thrashed. That's relieving to not hear something like "get ready for a head gasket" or something though.
Are these relatively long-lasting power plants? To my knowledge it's bone stock. I don't have big plans for performance, I don't want it loud but I might do intake/exhaust/AP eventually.

That sounds like an awesome trip. Try not to buy to much fuel in PA. We have one of the highest gas taxes in the nation.
Way cheaper in Ohio.

Thanks for the heads up! Any good sightseeing tips would also be appreciated too. Taking my fiancé with me so instead of taking a more direct route we're kind of dipping down to visit her old hometown of Chatanooga, TN.
The plan is to go...
PA -> MD -> DC -> VA -> NC -> TN -> KY -> IL -> MO -> KS -> CO -> UT
...In 4 days to start my new job on the 6th day hahaha. What could go wrong?
