Pay the right people and you can have anything happen. Just kidding, it seems that since the car accident was with a state trooper, they didn't technically total my car. I know that the state trooper's "insurance" was basically a large sum of money that the state sets aside for incidents like this. Because of that they can't total my car, because then they would have to also take it, and they have no interest in having multiple totaled cars. They just sent me a check and I continued driving it.

The guy at the dealer today said that if I didn't have to buy my car back from the insurance company, then it's not totaled. I did not know that.

Geez, to think I was in New Jersey just a month ago.

And drove home an Aero MT, 118,000 miles. Premium and cold packages, nearly bone stock and well maintained.

Sparkly clean title.

For $5000.

No, I don't think I am.

You've got a damaged and beat 9-2X that isn't a 9-2X anymore with that front end swap.  The fact the aftermarket parts don't hold value has been discussed here, and a lot of engine aftermarket parts makes some buyers (like me, for instance) skittish - I wanted an honest car that I can modify on my own with low suspicion about it having been thrashed.  You raise the price after "a lot of interest" - I smell BS on that.  This isn't an auction.

I thought it was pretty clear that I was joking about raising the price lol. I don't think anyone took that seriously. If you wanted something clean then this car is obviously not for you. It drives great and it's pretty quick. Sure, its no race car but you could beat most things you find on the road. The suspension is still brand new. I get that most people don't factor aftermarket parts into the price, but it wouldn't make sense for me to do that. I plan on parting this out in the summer, and I'm pretty confident I'll make $3k after about a week.

Lol ok maybe a week is a little ambitious but I'll make $3k without much trouble selling just the big parts.

Re: 2005 92x for sale - 175k miles - NJ UPDATED -- CLEAN TITLE!

Man, threads like this really bring out the dickhead in people.  Seller seems like a good guy with a good sense of humor and has taken all the unnecessary insults in stride.  Dishonest sellers deserve to get shit on.  People overvaluing their cars don't.

EDIT: Just re-read this thread.  I guess I remembered reading it before and people being more harsh than they were.  Still maybe a little too harsh, but not this board at its worst.

Re: 2005 92x for sale - 175k miles - NJ UPDATED -- CLEAN TITLE!

Thanks man I appreciate the support. I might bring it back to stock and see if there's more interest. Right now I've declined every offer I've got because I'm really attached to my suspension and exhaust, I wanna swap them over to whatever I get next.

Re: 2005 92x for sale - 175k miles - NJ UPDATED -- CLEAN TITLE!

This hardly feels like a for sale post anymore, but I'll update you guys anyway. I got a really solid offer, which I maybe should have taken, but I rejected it so I could swap over my exhaust and suspension to my next project. So who would be interested in a semi stock 92x? I'll include everything else for $3500 obo, on stock suspension and exhaust.

What kind of paint is that?  I'm not sure how I feel for this application, but might like the texture for something else I'm doing.

If you're painting a classic car trunk or re coating your garage floor, I would say use a different paint.

Yeah it definitely came out different than what I expected, I thought it would be a flatter grey. This was a can of dupli-color graphite wheel coating. I did 3 light coats then a heavy one, all 10 minutes apart.

I used the anthracite Plasti-Dip brand and it turned out really well.  Yours doesn't look smooth at all.  Maybe a couple more coats will even it out better

lol @ the callout of using that paint for a garage floor.

It just looks to me like it could use some clear coats.

Re: 2005 92x for sale - 175k miles - NJ UPDATED -- CLEAN TITLE!

I used anthracite Plasti dip on it before, but it came out more blueish than grey. Also I've heard bad stories about clear coat pealing with this paint under, so I figured I'd just spray it on thick. Might need to do another coat
