FS: 2005 Aero 5MT (Raleigh, NC) - $2500

Update: Rear brakes replaced, NC Safety/Emissions for 2017 completed.

It's with a bit of sadness that it's time to bid a fair adieu to my 92x.  It's served me well, and has been a helluva lot of fun, but it has outlived its purpose as a baby hauler.

I bought this as a fun but practical replacement for my truck, after we had a kid and I needed something with a suitable backseat.  It has treated me well, and/but it also lived out a useful life that went from daily driver to daily beater.  As such, she ain't the most pretty thing, and has a couple minor issues, but generally runs well, and for someone with a bit of know-how or time, these can be fixed. It has been much beloved, and as such, has seen a lot of love. tongue

This vehicle is in the Raleigh, NC area. I'd possibly be willing to meet somewhere in this general area to transfer ownership; mostly depends on whether I have time, of which I seem to have little these days.

Below you'll find an honest and frank assessment.  I have not yet done the air bag service recall, but I'd be willing to sit through that so any prospective purchaser need not do so.

Basic Details:
* 2005 Aero, 5MT, Desert Silver
* ~130500 miles
* Winter weather package (heated seats, etc.)
* 17" wheels
* Generally all stock/OEM parts except for the radiator (see below)

Repairs that have taken place on my watch:
* Driver side front strut (that was a *bad* pothole)
* Power steering pump
* Radiator (aftermarket Mishimoto)
* Timing belt (preventative)
* Alternator
* Battery

Nearly all repair work was done at TurboTime, in Cary NC - http://turbotime.us/
General maintenance was not - oil changes, brakes, tires/alignments, were done wherever I had the time to go and get it done... generally at a reliable local auto mechanic, who also replaced the alternator (name available upon request).
Oil changes were at at interval of anywhere between ~3-4k. Certainly never went beyond 5k.

Caveats:
* The AC is shot. Compressor works fine, there's no refrigerant -- zero. This indicates to me that there's a hole somewhere near the bottom of the system; must've happened somewhere near the end of Summer 2015. Whether you can patch that or not, I don't know. I haven't investigated, and got used to driving last summer with no AC.
* Fog lights are both burned out. I think I have some spare bulbs in the glovebox.  Never got around to getting them replaced.
* There are three spots of body damage, though none of these particularly affects the safety or functionality of the car.:
  * Paint scraped off the rear bumper where someone apparently hit-and-run me in the parking lot. It is mostly cosmetic.
  * A small dent on driver side where a deer ran into the side of my car.  Yes, you heard me right.
  * A more significant dent on the passenger side. This one was my fault, and happened after I was getting used to backing into the garage of a new house sad.
* Passenger side dent has a bit of surface rust but nothing particularly significant.
* The rims are scratched up. I never got used to driving a car with low profile tires having driven exclusively 4x4s prior.
* Seats are fairly stained, as the non leather seats are wont to be. This is even more the case when you consider that this car saw significant use as a toddler transport vehicle.
* Rear brakes may need to be replaced soon. Went ahead and did this.
I'm generally looking for about $2500

Pictures of exterior below, including F'n'M.  I will try to get some of the interior later.

I'm guessing you mean 135k miles not 13.5k miles.  Right?  right!?!?

Ugh shit like this is tempting.

Wow, great price. Probably could clean this one up nice and flip....

Used leather seats and a new set of wheels/tires and it would be great. AC is probably a condenser.

Great ad, GLWS!

$2500 is a great deal, cheaper than any WRX wagon you'd find, that's for sure

AC could simply be the washer.  We have replaced ours 2 - 3 times.

Yes and no. Not sure what my intentions are with the car at this time. I don't want this to become a money and time pit. So we shall see.

Well if you want me to, I could go buy this car instead so you dont have to go through all the hassle.

Yes, I saw the next guy that had it here in Fayetteville.  He was trying to flip it for $5k.  Thanks anyway.

Re: FS: 2005 Aero 5MT (Raleigh, NC) - $2500

He didn't flip it. The car actually had more wrong with it than the seller stated. It needed a new center diff and clutch that the new owner replaced along with other parts.
