Everyone Gets Employee Discounts

Just heard on the radio, everyone gets the new employee discount!

To help boost sales, GM will announce today that its employee-discount program will apply to all customers through July 5, said dealer Ursomarso.

ZFurther questions from a prospective buyer:

So, what does this all mean?

The hotbutton is gone, are the $6K incentives still in place?  How large of a difference is employee pricing versus the hotbutton?

Any ideas, esp. those that work for GM/Saab?

Thanks,

Chris

Re: Everyone Gets Employee Discounts

I'm basing this on info stolen from the fatwallet forums but there they reported employee pricing + $6k rebate on aero and they upped the rebate to $5k on the linear.  Saying that brings the base aero to $19,425, which seems to be right on target with the the best deals people were getting up until now but should be no-hassle now.
Now if I just need toy find one with premium.

Re: Everyone Gets Employee Discounts

Yeah, that was my post on Fatwallet.  It's employee pricing minus $6000 on Aero and $5000 on linear. All other incentives are gone.  Basically, it's pretty close to what people were paying last month.

Re: Everyone Gets Employee Discounts

GM employee price is usually a couple grand under MSRP. It varies depending on vehicle. GM employees could've gotten the Aero for 17k and change after all the rebates and stuff.

Re: Everyone Gets Employee Discounts

yeah, but the hot button and employee rebates are over so add 2k to the employee price for this month so now its closer 19k.

Re: Everyone Gets Employee Discounts

I just talked to Saab Customer Service this morning and was told, and I quote,

"The $6,000 cash incentive continues in June.  The $1,000 Hot Button incentive goes away.  From now on everybody pays GM employee prices on Saab 9-2xs."

Since I'm only interested in the Aero, that's the model I got info on.  The Customer Service rep told me that as of June 1, 2005, the pricing on the Aero is as follows:

9-2x Aero                  $24,600
Transportation                  695
Premium Package          1,492
Cold Package                   528
              TOTAL         $27,315
Less Cash Incentive      -6,000
              NET             $21,315

That's a heck of a lot of car for $21K.  Leaves plenty left over to add some of the projects from the European Car project series.  ;-)
