... me!  Just brought an Aero up from SoCal.  Beautiful car!  Every destination arrives a little too quickly.   driving

So, does anyone know of a quality shop or dealer in the GTA to trust this car to?  I've heard that C and C is good, but I'm much closer to Budd's.  How about independent shops?

Thanks everyone!

Re: You have a new member...

Welcome!

I've heard a bunch of good things about Budds and the prices are very reasonable for a dealer. I pickedup my Mishimoto rad there a few weeksback and it was cheaper than some local performance suppliers!!

Also, if your not a member already head over to www.toronto-subaru-club.com
You'll get a lot more info about local shop recomedations there!

Re: You have a new member...

Thanks all.  I've done a few hours of reading on here and discovered the absolute worst thing I could do is take it to a SAAB dealer.  Coincidentally, that's also the worst thing you can do to non-Japanese SAABs.

The reason I wanted to take it in, as I normally do all of my maintenance myself, is that I'm new to Subarus and wanted an experienced eye to look over the whole thing and all the little noises.  Apparently the audible valve noise and excessive gear noise during deceleration in the low gears is normal.  It's getting close to the 90K mi/144K Km service and I'm mostly interested in new fluids all around, just not sure if it's worth ~$700.  Your thoughts?

They can *&^% right off unscrewing my glove box for 0.5 hours to change the cabin air filter though; I can do that in the parking lot at Crappy Tire!

Welcome!

I did my tranny and diff fluids way early 45K (kms).  I don't see any harm in doing them more often.

Don't worry, when I had my 92-X the dealer couldn't even find my cabin air filter and claimed that my model didn't come with one! That was after me telling them that I thought that it was in behind the glove box.

Back home in my driveway I had the old filter out in five minutes!

Re: You have a new member...

Welcome!  I agree about destinations arriving too early - I just can't get enough driving these days.  Today I had the good luck of having a crappy sunfire going 150 my whole commute home on the 115, so I had a heat sink.  This car is just disgustingly fun to drive fast.

Re: You have a new member...

Not to clutter the forums, I'm going to take the opportunity to introduce myself also.

I bought a 9.2x Linear last month and been babying it ever since. I bought it from a dealer, I guess that where the honor started because they were so incompetent and so diligent to just sale and not care of anything else for delivery.

Anyways, once it was in my hands, I did most of the preliminary maintenance stuff, starting with the oil change which looked like wasn't changed for 10k, air filter was black, and I'm not even joking.

I'm loving the car, I'll be honest. It has everything I need and she'll get the total love and care package from now on  smile
It is in my tradition to name all my cars, so this one's Abby  big_smile

I'm a rookie when it comes to Saabs and Subarus so I'll be reading through the forum for info that may help me throughout ownership of the ride.

Cheers, Alex. embeer embeer embeer

We were going to name ours Wasaabi....get it? smile

It didn't stick though, now it's just the silver car.  She'll get a name as she gets a bit older I'm sure.

I think that one's taken by a saabnet member, got the plates, too.  But they're in Cali somewhere, so it's up for grabs.  I'm just going with 'Aero' for mine.  Nobody else I know drives a SAAB, so no confusion there.
