Re: European Car Mag: Project 9-2x

If you read all of the articles on their "upgrade," you'll notice they actually messed-up the car's specs to some degree.

1st, they INCREASED stopping distance with a brake "upgrade."

2nd, they admittedly made the car sound "like a ricer," by adding the headers.

Also, with all of th eeffort put forth, they only managed .04g better than stock cornering.

A good set of rims and tires should have had that effect.

Re: European Car Mag: Project 9-2x

Off topic bump:

Saab – Gone
One GM brand has had even lower market share than Hummer, and that's Saab. And now it finds itself in the same position - under "strategic review." If no buyer is found, Sweden-based Saab will likely fade away.

Even including Europe, Saab sales are small for a parent company the size of GM. Its best year worldwide was 2006 when about 130,000 sold in the U.S. and Europe, a Saab spokesman said. By contrast, GM sold more than 300,000 Buicks in the U.S. alone that year.

Though where does our affinity lie, in Saab or in Subaru?

Re: European Car Mag: Project 9-2x

I don't feel much for Saab. They don't make a single product I'd want to own. My 9-2X is 98% Subaru anyway.

Subaru, no question.  That's the main reason why I bought the car.  I've wanted a WRX since they came out in '02, but I wasn't a big fan of the exterior styling.  I have always liked the exterior styling of Saabs, but I didn't like the drivetrain, or reliability for that matter.  For me, it's the best of both worlds.

Same for me. But I wish some of Saab's interior cues and quality carried over to our cars.

Re: European Car Mag: Project 9-2x

At the GM dealer, the saab accessory case was pretty sad: 2-3 pens, a 92x hat, a 93x hat, and some valve stem caps.  Hummer though had pens, hats, cologne, body wash, t-shirts, jackets, button up shirts, models, etc. etc. etc.
