New owner - 2006 Satin Grey Linear MT

Yikes, This took a while to find. Been looking for a while and finally caved in and paid a premium.

Cold weather and Premium package (CDN) so No Xeon's. boo hoo.

Paid $13k, about 3k more than I'd have liked and maybe 1.5k more than I should have, but finding these is like panning for gold.

Peterborough VW had this for a while but they wanted $15, 494 which scared me away.
Saw car last night with my mechanic and I were blown away by how clean the car was for a 2006.
Must have been meant to be 25013 km on the ODO and I have a thing with 13 having been born on the 13th.
This was a short hop car. Lots of little trips. Garaged.

Glad to be part of the SaabAru owners.  driving

Re: New owner - 2006 Satin Grey Linear MT

If it's a 2006, it isn't Satin Grey (this color was only offered in 2005).

You, sir, have a Nordic Grey car. One of the better colors that the 9-2x was offered in.

Congrats on the rare find, and welcome!

Re: New owner - 2006 Satin Grey Linear MT

Cool, Wasn't sure what the name was.  Good to know.

Now for the next embarrassing part.  facepalm

I wasn't sure what the headlight leveling switch was about so I did end up getting Xeon's. I thought that this was not on Canadian cars. Head scratcher that one is but I'm more pleased than ever.

Lights worked so I didn't look any further. Mostly went over mechanical when we went.

I'm so embarrassed that I didn't notice I got Xeon's. DOH! Need a light bulb Emoticon.

Can hardly wait to pick the car up.

Happy Holidays folks.

Re: New owner - 2006 Satin Grey Linear MT

This is Nordic Grey, a dark shade of grey:
http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk159/Letoad/Picture005.jpg

Satin Grey looks like a brownish-grey, kind of looks like dirty silver.

I have actually been doing some research on the Canada-retailed cars over the last week (attempting to figure out MSRP/package pricing).

I came across a topic somewhere that said that some '06 Canada cars DO in fact have HID's Xenon headlights. I don't know how this works with Canada's mandatory DRL laws, but I was surprised when I found this bit of info from a GM press release.

When you get the car, could you check and see if it has the original window sticker?

Re: New owner - 2006 Satin Grey Linear MT

I've seen that car around Peterborough (I'm assuming it's the same one).

That seems a reasonable price for that many km.  At least, I can't see paying less for an Impreza with that many clicks, so why not.

Are you from Peterborough or Wasaga beach?   Would be nice to see the car stay in town - we have a black linear that I think comes in from Port Hope area to work in Peterborough, me in a Silver Aero, and that car.

I still has Interwebz, bitch.

I'm not sure, but I believe Eurospek is correct.

You wouldn't say "me wish," but rather "I wish."  Therefore, it should be "you and I both [wish we had more girth.]"

Re: New owner - 2006 Satin Grey Linear MT

Superchunk,
Sorry it's going to Wasaga. To a happy home though.

Now to just get it, Krown it, paint protect it and lastly tint the windows. It will look sweet for a non-Aero but cheaper to run for sure.

Happy holidays folks. saab

Re: New owner - 2006 Satin Grey Linear MT

I stopped by and took a look tonight - do love that colour.  My wife said "it's not an Aero though...chick car".  I laughed.  She laughed.   A good time was had by all.

Nice car.  23000 clicks is pretty sweet.  That colour will look good with a tint too for sure.

Re: New owner - 2006 Satin Grey Linear MT

Merry Christmas Everyone.

KrazyKarGuy...  No window sticker to be had.

I love this car. Drove it for the first time yesterday. 140km/h on the 400 and very little noise. No shimmy in the wheel. Very nice car.

I got a great present, even if this will be the wife's primary driver.

Now to get Snows. Michelin X Ice 2's on hub centric rims for $1040 out the door Johnston & Magwood in Mississauga.

Anybody know anyplace closer to Wasaga that could give me a similar deal? Costco only had multifit rims which I would like to avoid.

I had no trouble when I had a recent fender bender.  Took an extra 3 days or so but that's it.

Re: New owner - 2006 Satin Grey Linear MT

They are quite scarce in Canada now. I had my car in the body shop two months ago and they had a 1-2 week lead time to source the hood and front fender. The supplier also adjusted up the price 50% during that time (and after the appraisal) because they could.

Re: New owner - 2006 Satin Grey Linear MT

Not sure what specific part was the problem one... Roughly I needed from a Subaru - Drivers door & both drivers side hinge pillers. From Saab - Driver front fender, Bumper core & cover Passengers headlight assembly and prob 3 grill pcs & retainers. I think the hood was ok. ~11k to fix ( including tow ) Oh Ya, and somehow the hood badge coloured bits 'shattered' during impact... That's probly what they couldn't find.

Re: New owner - 2006 Satin Grey Linear MT

Mine was a front bumper (or that whole panel, whatever it is called stretching back to the tires) and I think headlight assembly.  Took 1 week I think.
