Function mostly.  I was trying to buy those aero cross bars from deliverator, but he's completely ignoring my pm's for some reason.  I plan on two bike trays up top.

I also really like the way the car looks with the rails though.  The roof always looked like it was missing something to me.

Re: ThyMighty's 9-2x 2.5i

I couple months back I upgraded my parking lights with LED bulbs.  It's been too snowy and cold to take any pictures.
I also got a new relay for the signals and upgraded those to LED as well.  I couldn't get any pics of that though, the iPhone 3G fails at night pics.  facepalm
Enjoy teh grainy phonzr pics:

arrow-up More blue than they actually look.  I do not have my head lamps on, this is just the parking lights.

arrow-up That's a more accurate depiction of the color lighting they emit.  Again, that's just the parking lights.
These things a pretty damn bright.  I got the High-Flux LED's from autolumination.com.  There are nine individual LED's on each bulb assembly.

Re: ThyMighty's 9-2x 2.5i

I get all my LED's from autolumination.com.  The site layout is garbage, and it can be hard to navigate, but I've found that they have the best prices, best quality bulbs, and fastest shipping.  Not to mention that their customer service is first rate.  Here's the last order I placed, for the relay and the parking lights.

Flasher
Item# Led , Color: LED , Lens: EP34 (CF13JL-02)    $14.99 USD  1 EA

this is the relay  arrow-up
T10 Wedge
Item# SMT Tower , Color: 8K White , Lens: 194    $8.99 USD  2 EA

Subtotal    $32.97 USD
Shipping and handling    $9.00 USD
Total    $41.97 USD
Payment    $41.97 USD
Payment sent to superlumination@cox.net

I already had the rear flashers left over from my xB.  They aren't quite bright enough for my tastes, so I'll be replacing them with some Hi-Flux towers soon.  Autolumination provides a pretty good chart that shows what LED corresponds with which standard bulb size.

Re: ThyMighty's 9-2x 2.5i

Do you find the light output on the turn signal any brighter/or more intense than the regular bulb?

I was debating doing what you did, never got to it!

The hi-flux bulbs are intense.   up  They're at least as bright as an incandescent.  The bulbs I have now...  Not so much.  I'm ordering four hi flux towers and license plate LED's this week.  They don't come cheap, but they're totally worth it.

Pretty cool mod, right?  I bought it like that.  There's also about 50 tiny door dings on the passenger side.  I imagine this car belonged to an old lady who parked in a garage next to an old man that drove a Cadillac DTS.

Detailed my car this morning and installed my cross bars.  She's looking very utilitarian, getting ready for spring.  When the snow melts, I'm installing the DF210's and getting a fresh alignment.  I also have a Yakima Raptor bike tray to put on.  Here are some fresh and shiny pics showcasing the cross bars:

Re: ThyMighty's 9-2x 2.5i

New headunit installed today.  Pioneer DEH-4300UB.  I wanted a double din because I like the way they look a lot better.  I just couldn't find a 2DIN in my price range that offered as many features as this single:

facepalm I know.  If I tighten it any more than that, it's sideways.  If I stop tightening when it's facing the right direction, it's too loose.  I hate that thing...   I have a replacement on the way right now.

I replaced the HU in a Linear from the base unit, holy heck, did you notic the DRAMATIC sound improvement as well?

And wow, detailing when there's snow on the ground, new mods every day...I'm liking your motivation.  Speaking of which, what suspenders are those and are they on yet?

Thanks dude.  cool
Yes, major improvement in sound.  I hated the volume adjustment on the stock Clarion and the inability of the equalizer to turn down the lows.  I'm looking at components and a woofer now as well.
The coily do-dads are Tanabe DF210's on OEM WRX struts, but I haven't put them on because I decided to search for different struts.  I can't afford new, so I'm hoping I'll happen on some gently used.  Here's to hoping...  embeer

Re: ThyMighty's 9-2x 2.5i

I installed my summer suspension this weekend, Tanabe DF210's on '05 factory wrx struts.  The ride is very nice, body roll is down slightly, dip/lift on launch is less extreme, and looks are greatly improved.  diamond  Car is dirty, but it's supposed to rain all week here so no use washing.

I still have a clunk in the right rear, which tells me my old rubber sway bar bushings are done for.  Suppose I'll be ordering some polyurethane bushings next.

here's a thought for you.  my LGT knob was doing the same thing.  so, i got out the teflon tape and gave the threads a good wind or two or three and reinstalled knob.  Voila, issue gone!
