My new toy

My Friend purchased a brand new bugeye in 2002, 3 years ago I started to tell him to consider me first when he decided to sell it, that time was yesterday. My bugeye has 176,000 original completely stock miles, my friend Bob is a car mechanic, took very good care of the little car. I never saw his car dirty, always kept super clean, 3000 mile oil changes and all taken care of by the book. Car feels and runs like new, I paid so little money for it I rather not say. Last night I picked up a v1 accessport from a local guy on nasioc and flashed stage 1 first thing in the morning, I can't leave anything stock.

Re: My new toy

A classic! I will always love WRB bugeyes. Is that a wagon? Because that'd be even better.

It is a wagon, 5 speed manual, factory boost gauge, original wrx floormats still on it, it's been extremely well taken care of. I'll take more pictures when I have some spare time, will be traveling all next week, pictures will have to wait. The car is super clean inside out, the hoodscoop is the only thing that needs repainting. Already took it off and gave it to a friend to bring to his body shop for paint. The rear spoiler got broken by another friend who didn't secure his bike properly on the fork mount, Bob never replaced the spoiler thinking it would be best without it considering it could just get broken again. Crazy kid, I'm looking for a spoiler, leads welcome. Today I installed a cobb air intake, still flashed stg 1, thinking about keeping it there but adding an axleback just for that boxxer rumble. Thanks for the nice comments everybody.

Should you have a cobb intake without a tune?

No, it works fine with OTS maps:

Got an accessport, flashed first, then installed the cobb intake.

Re: My new toy

I have a hitch and a turbo back also waiting to go on it, weather here is not helping. The spoiler install got too complicated for me, the holes on the hatch were enlarged by the body shop that took the original broken spoiler off. I had to drop the car off at the local body shop to get the spoiler back on it, hope to get it back later today, thanks.

Re: My new toy

Yep, is the dd now, the 92x is getting up there in milage cause I drive it to missouri so much. The bugeye is coming along, had just enough time yesterday to install the hitch and catback once the weather calmed down a bit. Have no power at home, it was iether read a book or work on my car, went for the car work. Pictures coming later if I get a chance, car is super dirty now from driving on the mess left behind by Irene.

Re: My new toy

Hitch and borla catback are on, muffler sits a bit sideways, have to figure out how to get it to sit straight. Today I did some cleaning under the hood and put the factory air box back on. Didn't like the excessive noise from the cold air intake. I removed the down pipe heatshield and started soaking the dp bolts with pb blast. I have a catted Cobb down pipe to put on it next. I also have a Cobb up pipe waiting to install but that is not one for me to do at home on the driveway, going to need some help there. Ordered one of those controversial exedy oem replacement clutch, hope I have no problems with it.

I'm jealous, it's so beautiful

2005 Saab 9-2x Aero 4EAT <3 I loves it.  1 of 1,353 same models built in 05' super duper rare. Only 17.26% of 05' Production.
Dislikes: Saab logo vanishing, paint cheap.

Re: My new toy

Interesting, I had no idea the replacement clutch was controversial. I got one, and it seemed way too stiff for my liking, and I am pretty sure it was much stiffer than the original clutch. Is that what makes these clutches so controversial?

Your car is looking great. Keep the pics coming!

Re: My new toy

It's all the talk about it been inferior compared to the real oem, the controversy is probably just my take. Opinions are all over the place, figure buy one and try it before deciding what to install on the saabaru when the time comes. 122,000 miles on the 92x original clutch, no sign of it needing replacement yet.
Thanks for the compliments on the bugeye, it's coming along, I love it.
