Welcome to Saab92x.com!
Hi everyone, |
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/221/photouna.jpg/
I know the picture is not the best and it got hit in the front as well but do you guys think it can be restored or does it have to be salvaged? Im waiting for allstate to investigate it etc etc.. I was not at fault.

Hard to say, better photos needed to even take a stab. Given the state of Saab parts the decision might not be made strictly on the damage estimate.

Any Damage to the front... Might want to buy it Salvage... If they do Total it Find out the Salvage Price you would pay. Might give you 500 over it right off the bat...
Sorry for your Loss

Sorry to hear about that. Are you missing your headrests?

Given that the front and back bumpers are among the few "Saab specific" parts on our cars I'm gonna say http://youtu.be/rY0WxgSXdEE

here's some more. The lady smashed into my rear end which launched me into the car infront of me.
And the car didnt come with any headrests and to be honest it doesn't bother me cus i flip the seats so often and it gives me a better rear view
. Plus they're fkn hard to come by and expensive so I've been chilling on getting them.. might turn out to be a good thing

Sorry to see that....
it's going to be totaled. Start doing your homework by finding 06's with similar mileage for sale in order to calculate the value, you'll want to have a figure in mind before you receive your first offer as it will probably be low. Look into getting any mods off of it if you have any, talk to your adjuster about this. Don't be afraid to involve your insurance company if the process gets difficult.
If I were to make a guess I'd say your easily pushing a $10k repair.

With that rear quarter wrinkled, 9 times out of 10 its totaled. Buy it back and part it out!

It's a total for sure.
Makes me never want to drive my car again.
I am sorry for your loss

I think miessen has a set he is selling.
Aero 5-Speed Sports/Cold PackageOffline
Yeah I'm still not sure whats going to happen, I'll see what the insurance company has to say after the edtimates etc etc.
It really sucks cus I loved this car more than anything. It got lucky finding a black aero with manual gear and I doudbt I'll be that lucky again
I paid 12k after taxes and everything for it and all I really did was add the roofrack myself.
I hope you guys are wrong, but considering all the saab specific parts are the ones that are damaged I just dont know
Thanks for your input guys, I appreciate it!

I think the rear bumper is already spoken for.

I hate to say it but my Impreza had about as much damage as yours did to the front end, but only a minor dent to the rear hatch, and it was totalled. Admittedly the Impreza was 9 years old at the time, but it was fairly low mileage, and when you add in the "Saab parts" factor, it isn't looking good.

I know the feeling, man.
Mine was in an accident the other day.
Take a look at my situation: http://saab92x.com/viewtopic.php?id=38787 The damage estimate is currently sitting at a bit over $3000 to repair, so it is not being totaled. Double that for rear-end damage too, and you are quickly getting into "total" zone.
Don't let them push you around - you are under no obligation to accept their first offer. Start printing out KBB values for your car now, and any examples of similar cars selling in your area. Be prepared to negotiate a bit. Also, if they DO decide to repair, in most states you don't have to go with their recommended shops - do some research on shops in your area and go with the best, regardless of what the insurance company prefers.
And finally, take a deep breath - it sucks, but it's just a car, and there are lots more out there. Be glad you are OK - it sounds trite, but it really is the most important part.

Too many shitty drivers here in CO huh phidauex?
Allstate is moving slow as fuck. I got a 2005 nordic grey scooped out so if I et at least $11.000 for it things will be ok.
I thought about what other car to get... but I have no Idea I think imma go with another Aero

Except there never was a Nordic Grey Aero, only MY06 Linear.

unfortunately so true. Had Nordic Grey been available in '05 and on an Aero, I would've totally rocked one, even if I would've had to pay extra to get one that was not on the lot.

You and I both Scargo, just looks so much more aggressive than Arctic Silver. Always drool over the NG Linear I see around here. And white, I would have killed for Aspen White.
Saab failed on the colors. It should have been red, blue, black, silver, white, and grey. (Desert Silver could stay, but the differences between Arctic Silver and Satin Grey are a wash).

Saabarugirl posted a photo of her car, and when I first saw it, I could have have sworn it was a nordic grey Aero:![]()
I would love to have this color.

NG is much darker.
