Welcome to Saab92x.com!
|
It's that time of year again. The 2012 Saabs at Carlisle is coming up from May 18 - 20. There were a large number of us that went last few years, and hopefully we'll be able to go again this year.

Maybe I'll wash my car this time.

Hell, I may even show up now that my work schedule has changed.

I'm thinking of making it a whole weekend this year, or at least Friday & Saturday. One day just isn't enough to hang out with everyone and see all of the cars and parts there...

Have you met any s92x members yet?

Scargo was at one of the Bear Mt. meets. ( 2008/9??)
For anyone who is first time at this event I recommend you bring
Folding Chair
small cooler for refreshments
a jacket for rain/wind
sunscreen ( or you can count on me to have some after how burnt I got )
& don't forget your camera

Always a fun event, usually take the 900 if I go though. Having a hard time talking the fiancé into why it makes sense for us to drive separate cars across the state, haha.

I was debating on going. then I looked at the route and realized its out past Hershey and I did that same long ass boring drive by myself last Spring. Not really sure I want to do it again.

What day are you guys going?

I don't see why not - they're letting me take my Subaru!
Just register it, and if they say anything, tell 'em it's a 9-2x that got in an accident and there was a long wait on Saab hoods and fenders.

Yep, it is indeed a long ass boring drive, and Carlisle is in the middle of nowhere... It's a good time though!

This year I think I'll do the weekend pass. I don't think I'll take the day, but I'm probably going to leave work at lunch on Friday and head there for the rest of the day. Saturday's the main day, and you'll want to be there as early as possible, and you'll be entertained all day. Voting for the crowd's favorites (Saabs only) ends at 11, and you'll want to give yourself an hour or so to get settled, get your goodie bag, say hey, and then at least another hour to go look over all 200+ Saabs on the showfield. They offer a surprisingly decent lunch Saturday, plus awards in the afternoon. The past two years I've gone I didn't give myself enough time to really look over everything that's there on Saturday. There's a (very) small autocross course, flea market type swap meet, kit cars, exotics, old British stuff. It's a lot of fun.

Yep. I think you can get showfield registration, or just visitor's passes on that page. Just follow the links, or it's carsatcarlisle.com I think. The Saab club gets credit for the people coming for bragging rights, and I think you can park in the 'friends of Saab' section or something...

Registered. See all you mules there.

I might come out on Saturday. If I did does anyone want me to bring along some leather/vinyl repair and cleaning stuff? If so I'll ask them if I'd be allowed, what would be necessary and if there would be electric I could use somewhere.

Just a heads-up. I got an email last night from them. 27 April is the last day you can register to be guaranteed to park with all of the other 9-2Xs. Thread title changed to reflect this.

Still registered!

What he means to say is that everyone and anyone is welcome to steal my sunscreen while i'm in the chow line. And i quote "What? They didnt take any of Silent's beer.".
