The wife and I are looking to rent a cottage for a few days just to take a break from all the Massholes.
Must allow dogs. We've got a pretty active rottie (she doesn't destroy furniture or anything, but loves to run around), so an enclosed yard would be great.

If you don't get a cottage I would recommend you this place,
(we were to late to book for a cottage we kinda went spontainious)
The Paw House Inn, in VT.
http://www.pawhouse.com/
I was there in February this year, because we neeeded a dog friendly place for our labra-bull, I only can recommend you this place very clean and friendly place.
We went to Vermont for Snowboarding (we snowboard in Okemo, VT), and during the morning and day they took great care of our dog, they went several times out with him over the field and the trail thru the forest. When we were around the Inn we took him out of the kennel.
The Dog house there has 6x Kennels with good amount of space (out of my head I would say 5ft.x 10ft. for the kennels).
I recommend you to bring:
- dog toys
- dog bed
- dog food
- his/ hers leash
- his/ hers food bowl
- and check the informations from their site.
In the kennels they let the dogs listen to music or even tv/ documentations.
In our time the kennels were heated and made it very comfortable for our dog.
The Inn is more in the suburb of a smaller village (West Rutland) but Rutland isn't to far for food shopping or dinning.
The rooms were really nice and cozy we had a gas fire place what kept the room warm, our dog really liked the dog bed.
