Legacy. I wasn't aware the Ralliart was a DSM?

Since its easier to copy and paste:

Diamond-Star Motors (commonly abbreviated to DSM) was an automobile-manufacturing joint venture between the Chrysler Corporation and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC).[1] The name came from the parent companies' respective logos: three diamonds (Mitsubishi) and a pentastar (Chrysler).[2] Diamond-Star Motors was officially renamed Mitsubishi Motor Manufacturing of America, Inc. (MMMA) in 1995, four years after Mitsubishi took sole control of the plant, and since 2002 its official title has been Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) Manufacturing Division.[3]

Three of the vehicles produced by Diamond-Star Motors, the Mitsubishi Eclipse, Eagle Talon, and Plymouth Laser, are also commonly referred to as "DSMs".[4]

Re: Daily Driver - 2009 Ralliart or 2007 Legacy GT

I was unaware that you were not supposed to refer to all Mitsubishis as DSM's, apparently I wasn't the only one.

The car in question is a Japan-produced model.

+1.   For multiple reasons (like, do you really want yet another vehicle that is likely to be an orphan?) I don't think I'd ever own a Mitsu.  And, coming from the refinement of the //S4, do you really want to sit in a Lancer?  That and the fact that the car doesn't appear to have had the same level of care as the LGT really does make the LGT the winner of the two.  And yeah, I know what you mean about light interiors.  Between the Saabaru's parchment and my //S6's Ecru (the carpets, ohhh, I HATE the carpets, the leather is okay to deal with, colorwise), and my Mom's B5 Passat (who'd ever think of Tan leather and carpets in a silver car?  Seriously, only thing worse is the Pearl/Ecru combination on some UrS's, or silver + off white in Caddys), I think I've had enough of light interiors. Lipstick red leather is probably the only thing worse, it always ends up looking like bad vinyl.

Another vote for the LGT.

Ralliart is a kids car. Also, any vehicle ever being inspected for purchase should have a distinct LACK of filth and pet hair. Fucking Orange? Yuck.

Legacy GT is an adults car. Sensible amounts of room, power, understated maturity, and Subaru's stellar safety rating. Car exhibits a distinct lack of filth and pet hair. Muted blue? Nice.

The paint is fading on the Mitsubishi. I just bought a 26 year old car, and it doesn't have any faded paint.

Because he's in Hawaii, duh.  Also, with his awesome torque converter, his wife is going to be chirpin' the tires like mad, bro.  Need some AWDz for all that accelerating she's going to be doing coming out of the apex in the rain.

*edit* Er, girlfriend.  Not wife.  lol

2) WHY OH WHY would you let the fact that your girlfriend is not currently a proficient manual driver to dictate that you purchase a slushbox? TEACH HER. Or she can't drive your car. This is, in my opinion, a skill that should be required as a part of drivers ed. Like parallel parking. The difference is HUGE. The only thing I would think that could force me into an auto is if I was in stop/go traffic daily for hours. In which case I would move. So I guess really nothing could force me into an auto.

+1. It's your car, tell her to get her own damn car or learn to drive yours. Simple.

You can call it what you want, I still wouldn't buy it.  The only thing Mitsu produces worth looking at is the EVO, and everyone already knows that.

I'm going to reverse the trend on the paint color though, love the orange.
