Need opinions. I'm remodeling the screened in porch. The ceiling had ugly siding material that I removed. Should I replace with tongue and groove nice stuff or maybe keep the beams exposed and stain them? If I keep the beams exposed I will still need to cover directly under-roof as all the roofing nails are through and looks crappy. I could re-route the ceiling fan/light wire along the top of a beam to hide it. The ceiling fan will be replaced with a nice new one. What would you do?

I was thinking I could do bead board above in either white or a lighter stain.
The dark parts you see below I already stained that color. The beams would be stained that same color.

What this jerk said.
Didn't you make this thread before? I seem to remember suggesting bigassfans.com in it...

That is possible. I demoed it last fall and didn't have time to do the remodel. It sat over the winter. Now I am re-thinking my original plan which was a traditional tongue and groove ceiling.

I like exposed beams, but I would finish that off with tongue and groove boards with a light stain.

No matter how you cover the rafters Install a roof vent. The convection will keep the roof much cooler and in turn the room will be cooler.

You mean above the rafters (cathedral /sloped ceiling with exposed rafters) or cover the rafters with T&G?

It will help with the moisture problems you are going to have if you close that in with something like tongue and groove. What was in the room before? soffit?

It was actual vinyl siding as the ceiling which is why i ripped it out.

I had to put this on hold for a while but now finishing up finally. I put in new screen, re-stained in and out, stained the beams and re-trimmed the outside.
While doing all of this it finally hit me on what to use for the ceiling above the beams. I will be using corrugated sheet metal. This will look pretty cool and be a nice contrast to the beams.
The floor is a stone look fiberglass backed vinyl.
