DENVER: SAABARU 92X MEET/DRIVE!

Thought I'd post this here so you all would see this and we'd get more feedback/discussion.

ME: I drive a 2005 92x aero, 5mt, at stage 2 I guess.  I am moving from the bay area CA to Denver, CO in a couple weeks.  I have been heavily involved in some Subaru car clubs in the San Francisco area and would love to meet a group of car lovers in Colorado.

Looking at the user map on this site there are lot of you guys in Denver/mid CO area.

I say lets have a giant 92x meet and drive!  Has this even been done?  Im sick of trying to get approved into subaru clubs and just cracking saabaru jokes.  Imagine how many heads this would turn!  Most don't even know what car that is when they see a 92x, but imagine 20, 50, or even 100!?

This could be a one time thing or a regular group of 92x owners with monthly/weekly meets.  Linear, area, stock, 500hp.  Who cares, lets show off our unique and sick cars!

DATE: Saturday, August 24th 2013 ??
TIME: 11:00 am ??
MEET LOCATION: some where in DENVER ??

lol 100 Saabarus brought into one place? I'm pretty sure the only time that's ever happened was when they got shipped over here.

Re: DENVER: SAABARU 92X MEET/DRIVE!

Welcome to the area, sjsiegel. I think you'll find car groups out here to be a little less snobby- check out AWDpirates, for example.

Denver has been pretty good about setting up meets; I've ben to at least 4, though it was much more common with original owners or their immediate successors. I'd guess it has been 3 years since I've seen many of these guys. But if you can make it happen, you'll be continuing a tradition: that I know of, the biggest meet happened waaaay back in the day, say '06 or '07, when a bunch of us met up in Denver. While it was primarily CO folks, Chris of  facepalm fame and I traveled out (though perhaps I counted as CO folk, as my car was already living here. Long story). There are pics somewhere, possibly in the CO meet thread. I want to say there were 8 or so 9-2xs, with another few forum members in other rides. Despite the fact that Colorado has a large population of 92xs, you'll find that many of them aren't even aware of this forum.

Just for fun, those that I can remember made it:
Azrael (now in SF, but was driving his red Viggen for the meet)
Jeepis aka Doug (now in NJ, driving a Mustang and/or a Grand Cherokee)
AspenMike
Chris (now driving a Volt, flew in from Minnesota)
myself (finally fully relocated to Denver)
Scott (drove a red linear, don't remember his forum name but I haven't seen him on the forums in a loooong time)
Hack (now down in CO springs, driving a G35)
possibly ScottS2k (long since departed the forums, I believe)
Brian (now in Alaska)

It's also likely that Gonzocyle and Don (SaabaruAero??) were there, but I can't recall if I met them there or at a different meet.

It was spring of '07, right after I bought my house.

Thanks for the corrections. The 3 you crossed out were the 3 I was least certain about so apparently 10%abv beers haven't kill all of my brain cells just yet.

You'll not likely get 10 Saabarus; you might get 10 forum members. I'm always willing to meet up but the next couple of months are incredibly busy. The date you proposed, for example, my gf has guests in town that I'll be helping entertain (likely with aforementioned 10% beers).

Still in the Denver Metro area. Was just up at the Jane today. Saw a Blue Aero on the access road by C lot, and saw a Linear heading to WP as I went back over the Berthoud Pass Race Track this afternoon.

I'm still here... though with regard to both Denver and Saabarus, it's a tentative situation (though for different reasons).

Millennials seem to be flocking to CO and NC, at least ones from the Midwest.

I'm moving on to a custom engine swapped Ford Transit Connect sports van! A real dream come true. It's funny, but I'm not joking.
